Whenever I travel abroad, I love to explore the places in the city or country, so any hotel is great as long as it is clean, and comes with comfortable beds …

But when I travel to places I am already familiar with, the hotels or resorts are what that make my vacation or staycation amazing… and so for my recent trip to Langkawi, Tanjung Rhu Resort was the little slice of paradise I found myself at….

Situated on the Northern of tip of Langkawi Island, off the west coast of Peninsular Malaysia, Tanjung Rhu Beach Resort is just a 30-minute drive from Langkawi International Airport.

The resort sits on a 2.5 km white-sand beach, shaded by rustling Casuarina trees, and overviewing the beautiful islets seemingly floating on the Andaman Sea.

The first time I saw Tanjung Rhu Beach, I fell in love… it is definitely one of the most beautiful beaches you can find in Langkawi!!! And it is almost secluded or mostly quiet… you won’t find tons of holiday makers here!!! It is private and peaceful, just my idea of a perfect beach vacation!!!

Tanjung Rhu Resort offers 136 contemporary guestrooms, some overlooking the sea, while the others overlook the gardens…

The Bayu Suria Family Suite was my home for the 3 days 2 nights I was there with two of my close friends…

it offered us quite a bit of space and the added luxury of a separate living area, 1 queen bedded room, 1 twin bedded room and 2 balconies….

My besties and I had an amazing time at out room and the rest of the resort and the en suite bathroom was sooo spacious with a bathtub, rain shower facilities and complete bath amenities.

All the rooms are air-conditioned, and you can adjust the temperature in your room or suites to your personal preferences. Amenities include a room safe, an electric kettle, an ironing set, a hair dryer, slippers and bathrobes.

The centrepiece garden with its lotus and waterlily pond, shrubs with coconut trees framing it is also just such a joy to behold and a photographer’s dream….you can occasional spot a monitor lizard or a little frog and colourful birds…

Tanjung Rhu Resort comes with two humongous outdoor pools (family and adult), a fitness center with sauna rooms and steam baths, tennis courts, multiple dining options, and a spa.

The Sands adult pool is located near the Sands Restaurant and Pool Bar and the Chef’s Table fine dining restaurant. The adult pool is the most peaceful place in the resort, where you can just enjoy a quiet and peaceful day soaking up the sun or water at or by the pool with the convenience of the bar to provide you with drinks throughout the day.

And if you happen to be adventurous, Tanjung Rhu has a variety of activities for all from ATV, watersports, mangrove tours etc

And for thise who appreciate a good sunset, the sunset here on a good day is simply spectacular and shouldn’t be missed!!!!

Tanjung Rhu Resort is one of the nicest resorts I have had the opportunity to stay at, both in Langkawi and in Malaysia and comes with friendly, 5 stars service and a a good selection of food at any or all of their restaurants… and it cannot get anymore peaceful or serene than this!!!!

So if you want a serene and blissful honeymoon or a calming / healing getaway from the hustle and bustle of the city and town, Tanjung Rhu Resort is definitely the place to be!!!!
