I’ve always believed that great design is meant to be felt… not just seen. And at the WAVE Audio and Visual Experience 2025, held recently at the Eastin Hotel in Phileo Damansara from October 10–12, I felt every note, every vibration, and every cinematic moment come alive…

Curated by Gryphon Production, the creative minds behind some of Malaysia’s most memorable concerts and events, this was not your typical tech expo. It was an immersive sensory journey… a place where innovation met emotion, and where lifestyle, design, and technology danced perfectly in sync.

Walking into the venue felt like stepping into the future of home living. Each room and display had its own character… from sleek home theatre setups to jaw-dropping audio systems that made me feel like redesigning my entire living room. Whether you’re a film buff, a music lover, or simply someone who appreciates beautiful spaces, WAVE really open eyes and inspired…..

I especially loved how accessible everything felt. There was no complicated tech jargon or intimidating sales pitch…. just passionate creators and enthusiasts sharing what they love. One moment I was watching a demo of a HiSense L9Q triple laser projector, the next I was marveling at a million-ringgit Acoustical A-Stellar turntable that looked like it belonged in a museum.

And yes, some of the setups were worth more than most cars! The Audio Perfectionist and Statement Systems displays were pure luxury… multi-million-dollar installations that made you understand why audiophiles take their sound so seriously.

But WAVE wasn’t just about imported prestige. It was also a platform for local talent… from Malaysian-made speakers by JW Speaker Labs and CCY Engineering to AA Audio’s music servers and digital cables. It was so refreshing to see homegrown innovation standing proudly beside international names.

Of course, there were nostalgic moments too… flipping through vinyl records at Caruso Vinyl and Record Refuge, and rediscovering the magic of analog sound. It felt like a love letter to every music era, from vintage classics to digital modernity.

Over three days, the event hosted over 65 exhibitors and 200 brands, including global icons like Sonus Faber, AudioVector, Goldmund, and Hegel. There were even insightful WAVE Talks featuring industry experts from around the world …the kind of sessions that made you see sound and vision in an entirely new way.

As Gryphon’s CEO, Wilson Teoh, beautifully put it:
“WAVE isn’t just about gadgets, it’s about crafting a home that reflects who you are. A place that looks as good as it sounds.”

And that really summed up the spirit of the show. WAVE wasn’t just an expo, it was a personal invitation to experience a lifestyle, one where design, technology, and emotion harmonise perfectly.

As I left the Eastin Hotel that afternoon, I couldn’t help but imagine my own living space transformed into movie nights that feel like premieres, Sunday mornings filled with rich vinyl tones, and quiet evenings where music truly surrounds you.
WAVE showed me that home isn’t just where we live… it’s where we feel. And that, to me, is the ultimate sound of luxury.
