There’s something magical about landing in Krabi … the moment you step off the plane, it feels like the pace of life instantly slows down but the excitement ramps way up.

This trip was extra special because I travelled with Tripfez, on board the inaugural Firefly Flight to Krabi and let me tell you… the experience was smooth from the moment we arrived, and was even welcomed with a water salute. The tour guides even collected and arranged our luggage so it was waiting for us right after immigration. Talk about stress-free travel!

Day 1 — Of Giant Crabs, Naval Legends & Riverfront Flavours

Our first stop was the iconic Giant Crab Statue, a symbol of the black mud crabs that thrive in Krabi’s lush mangrove forests.

With Khao Khanap Nam rising majestically behind it (plus the eagle statue nearby), it’s the perfect introduction to how rich and abundant this region truly is. It’s one of those classic Krabi photo moments… and yes, I took many.

From there, we dove right into local history at the HTMS Lanta Museum. This massive World War II ship, originally USS Stone County… had such a fascinating journey before retiring in Krabi. From serving in the Korean and Vietnam wars to becoming a museum in honour of the Thai King’s 84th birthday, the ship is now a powerful reminder of Thailand’s maritime heritage.

Walking its deck and learning how it was saved from destruction felt like stepping into a moving time capsule.

As evening rolled in, we headed to Pak Nam Seafood Krabi, a fully halal seafood restaurant perched right along the Krabi River. The river breeze, the sound of water, the golden light…. it’s the kind of place you settle into and instantly feel at home.

Fresh seafood, flavourful southern Thai dishes, and a relaxing open-air setting… honestly the perfect way to wrap up our first night. Personally I swear that was one of the most delicious halal food ever!!!!!

When dinner was over, we headed to Blu Monkey Hub & Hotel Krabi Town, our home for the two nights we were at Krabi, a place where modern design meets Krabi’s local soul….

The moment you step inside, you’re greeted by bold yellow-and-black murals that creatively retell Krabi’s stories through art … a blend of style, culture, and imagination that instantly sets the tone for your stay.

Blu Monkey Hub & Hotel Krabi Town isn’t just a hotel; it’s a space that encourages connection.

The signature easy-going Blu Monkey lifestyle flows through every corner. Lounge by the Blu Pool under the sun, stay on track at the Blu Gym, and enjoy the freedom of their self-service concept. With a 24-hour Monkey Desk, an all-night Monkey Hub equipped with super-fast Wi-Fi, and delicious breakfast that lasts all morning (followed by complimentary afternoon treats!), you can truly live at your own pace.
Conveniently located on Maharaj Road in the heart of Krabi Town, the hotel features 58 thoughtfully designed rooms and sits just steps away from cafés, restaurants, bars, and local attractions….
Day 2 — The 4 Islands That Stole My Heart (By Private Longtail Boat!)

If you’re in Krabi, a 4 Island Tour is non-negotiable… and taking a private longtail boat makes it even more magical. We set off from Ao Num Mao Pier, getting splashed along the way (embrace it, it’s part of the charm!), and spent the day hopping between Krabi’s most photogenic island gems:

🐔 Chicken Island — Yes, the rock really does look like a chicken. Snorkelling is incredible here, and during low tide you can walk across the sandbar straight to Tup Island.

👣 Tup Island — Home of the “parting of the sea,” where a sandbar connects three islands. A total bucket list moment and pure Maldives vibes!
🏝️ Poda Island — Think powdery white sand and dramatic limestone cliffs. The kind of island where time slows down and you wonder if you should just move to Krabi permanently.

🕯️ Phra Nang Cave Beach — Famous for its Princess Cave, where locals honour a sea princess said to watch over fishermen. It’s beautiful, spiritual, and uniquely Thai.

Between snorkelling, sunbathing, chasing sandbars and taking way too many photos, the day went by in a blur of turquoise and sunshine.

For dinner, we cooled off at Halabala Café, a halal-friendly spot with air-conditioning, good vibes, and comforting dishes.

Not fancy, but perfect after a full day under the sun.

A little bonus stop before we hit the airport and return home? OTOP Local Products…. my favourite kind of shopping in Thailand.

Everything here is handmade, locally sourced, and supports community artisans. From textiles to snacks to pottery, it’s the ideal place to pick up gifts with meaning (and maybe a little something for yourself).
This trip was the perfect blend of nature, culture, food, and meaningful local experiences… and it wouldn’t have been the same without the thoughtful planning and warm hospitality of Tripfez.

Thank you, Tripfez, for truly making this Krabi getaway unforgettable.
