Food 2025 – Hock Kee Kopitiam Opens Its 16th Outlet at Sunway Square — A Taste of Malaysian Muhibbah Continues

Hock Kee Kopitiam continues its inspiring Malaysian food journey with the opening of its 16th outlet at Sunway Square, the newly launched four-level retail and lifestyle hub in Sunway City Kuala Lumpur. This latest milestone marks another proud chapter for the beloved kopitiam brand that began humbly in Johor Bahru in 2018 and has since grown into a nationwide favourite.

From opening its first Klang Valley outlet in Bangsar South in 2023 to achieving HALAL certification in 2024, Hock Kee Kopitiam’s steady expansion reflects both resilience and purpose … staying true to its roots while embracing inclusivity.

During the opening ceremony, Founder Nick Ng shared a heartfelt reflection:

“This marks our 16th outlet. While we currently operate 15 outlets, we have always counted this as our sixteenth.

Our very first outlet opened during the MCO period and was unfortunately forced to close. However, it remains the beginning of our journey and a reminder of where we came from, something we will never forget.”

A Kopitiam Built on the Spirit of Muhibbah

At the heart of Hock Kee Kopitiam lies the Malaysian value of ‘Muhibbah’, which consist of harmony, respect, and togetherness among people of different races, cultures, and beliefs. This spirit is deeply reflected in its menu, which is thoughtfully crafted to be enjoyed by all Malaysians.

With a clear “No Pork, No Lard” philosophy and a strong commitment to Halal standards, Hock Kee Kopitiam creates a dining space where everyone can enjoy classic Nanyang flavours with confidence and peace of mind.

“Our vision from day one was to create Nanyang cuisine that all Malaysians can enjoy,” Ng shared. “Inclusivity has always been at the heart of everything we do.”

At the new Sunway Square outlet, diners can savour a wide selection of comforting Malaysian favourites, including:
