Hostel Review: Incheon Number

My travel plans bungled a little when I was in South Korea and so I had to spend an additional night in Incheon since my flight in the morning the next day, so from our guesthouse in Seoul, we checked out and made our way to the Incheon Airport and try out best to figure out how to get to the Guest House.

Finally with so many luggages in tow, we decided to just get a taxi from the airport which cost us 3000 won

The Incheon Airport Guest House will definitely enable guests a pleasant stay while you are in Incheon for business or pleasure. It is just about 1km from the city center and 2-3km from the airport, in a 1-2 star hotel which attracts numerous travelers each year.

With the city’s main attractions such as Golden Gate Casino, Incheon International Airport, SKY72 Golf Club within close reach, visitors to the hotel will love the location.

It was slightly confusing as the guest house is actually located in a hotel and you check in at the  6th floor of the hotel, and the woman there will check you in after verifying who you are and photocopying your passports. She will then give you the password to your room, as the room uses a password system (like a hotel safe) and instructions on how to go to your room. She is definitely very professional, polite and quite friendly…

The rooms have been carefully designed to give you the highest degree of comfort and convenience. While I was there, the rooms are spacious, comfortable, and clean.

My room which was a family room (I think) came with one queen sized bed, one single bed, a desk, TV, refrigerator, even a microwave, and even a washing machine (which was very handy for us!!!) and a couple of stove burners, slippers, towels as well as generous full sized bottles of shampoo, conditioner, moisturizers, lotions and amenities

You will also find coffee and tea making facilities as well as free mineral water in the refrigerator…

There are also extra blankets in the closet in case you need more.  The water pressure in the bathroom is very strong.

As I mention, the washing machine was so handy as we had planned our clothing for exactly our stay of 5 days and 4 nights, and we did not have extra clothes for one more day /night… so with that washing machine, we got to wash some of our clothing and dry them… huhuhu

There’s a free shuttle to and from the airport (departure level, exit 3 or 12; there’s a sign for the free shuttle bus).

It takes about 5-10 minutes to get to or from the airport, and the shuttle runs several times an hour. There are convenience stores and restaurants in the same building.

There is also no formal checkout; it is so easy to check out, just take all of your belongings with you and leave the room the way it is….

And as most airport hotels, it may be a bit noisy because of the planes landing, but personally for me I had a wonderful time watching planes land every few minutes from my window seat….

I have always find it fascinating watching planes take off and land and used to sit in a car parked near the Schipol Airport in Netherlands for almost an hour just watching that with a friend… LOL, and that was like 16 or so years ago…….

From the Incheon Airport Guest House, we walked a little up the road towards the airport and the Hyatt hotel there and took a bus to the Eulwangri Beach as we thought it would be a nice change seeing a beach in Seoul/ Incheon after all the shopping and historical sites we went….  Eulwangri Beach is very packed with holiday makers and South Koreans pitching tents there .

Another reason is also that it was said that one of the restaurants here was a filming site for well, the popular K-drama, “My Love from the Star”…. huhuhu, though we could not quite find or determine which restaurant it was… hahahah

If you have plenty of time, you could check out these places too (I would have but we did not have the time…huhuhu)….:

SKY72 Golf Club – 4.9 km

Incheon Bridge – 7.4 km

Silmido Island – 7.5 km

Eulwangri Beach – 8 km

Wangsan Beach – 8.3 km

Incheon Port Passenger Terminal – 12.1 km

Wolmido Marina – 12.6 km

Wolmido Amusement Park – 12.7 km   (a filming site for Descendants of the Sun – in the first Episode….)

Wolmi Traditional Park – 13.1 km

Fun Science Museum – 14.7 km
