SUNWAY PUTRA HOTEL 2017 CNY WITH GIANT YEE SANG TOSSING

Sunway Putra Hotel is one of my favourite hotels…and it is always a great pleasure staying or dining there.. the staff are friendly and accommodating, the food is fantastic and the celebrations… grand…

So with the Chinese Lunar New Year just around the corner with the Rooster impatiently trying to peck its way in to chase away the Horse… Sunway Putra Hotel as unveiled their series of decadent, opulent and super self indulging choice of dining……

Led by Chef Chew Keng Chai, the Head Chinese Chef, the hotel’s skilful culinary team has pulled all stops to ensure all their guests are treated to a very elaborate international feast… both for the eyes and for the tastebuds..

The evening began with a gigantic Yee Sang tossing with about 100 guests and members of the media.. in a round table area and with the guests being playfully disturbed by some of the 8 auspicious lions running around to surprise as well as take selfies and photographs with the guests….

Sunway Putra Hotel also unveiled one of the longest Spring Couplets in Kuala Lumpur where some delicate calligraphy was drawn/written on a 14 feet tall red paper with two vertical sentences symbolising more luck, more wealth and health for the hotel and also the guests….

FYI, Sunway Putra Hotel has been awarded with 2016 Best Food and Beverage Hotel by CTRIP – a dominant online booking portal for China’s outbound travel in November and if you just head over there to try their food, it is no surprise as I personally vouch this is one of my favourite hotels to dine in…

Anyway if you are interested in the Reunion Buffet, let me tell you what it entails…. It will be featuring the Yee Sang with fresh salmon slices on a one-of-a-kind majestic ice sculpture… You can also be sure to be checking out 10 headlining counters… from Appetizers and Salad, Yee Sang Counter, Soup, Hot Spot, Pasta and Noodles, Pizza of the Day, Dim Sum, Carving Station, Hot Dishes and Desserts…

The Appetizers and Salad counter will have interesting delights such as the Minced Chicken with Thai dressing Salad, Teriyaki Beef Slices with Soba Noodle Salad and Oyster and Green Mussels on Ice served with lemon wedges and Tabasco sauce….

You can find Double Boiled Chicken Soup with Ginseng and Hot and Sour Szechuan Soup with Crab meat at the soup counter…

And pick your choice of seafood to be Barbequed at the Hot Spot Counter….

… and check out the Carving Station for some special Homemade Meatloaf….

Do not miss out on the Roasted Peking Duck Pizza and also the rich Asian Seafood Buttered Spaghetti from the Western Corner…

What would Chinese New Year be without the best scrumptious Chinese New Year dishes….

I loved the Sea Cucumber and Mushroom stew on Brassica ….

…and that Wok Fried Prawn with Spicy Special Sauce ..

…and how can I resist the steamed fish with Superior Soya Sauce……

The Sunway Putra Hotel’s 2017 Chinese New Year Eve Reunion Dinner Buffet -click for more pics- is available on the 27^th January 2017 from 6pm to 10.30pm at the Coffee House on Level 9… it is only RM118 nett per adult and RM59 nett per child between six and 12 years old… and if your kids are below 6 years old, they can eat for free… how cool is that…

On the other hand, if you are looking to host your own private CNY gathering, you can get the Prosperity Set a nine course dinner including the Yee Sang Set at RM1988 nett for a table of ten… a minimum booking of 20 people is advised for the private dinner packages and the offer is opened from 15^th January to 11^th February… so if your company wants to have a CNY makan2 or you want to bring all your relatives for makan2 you know where to go ya….

You might like to consider Gen Japanese Restaurant for a unique Japanese Chinese New Year Buffet… at only RM98 per person and RM49 nett per child between 6-12 years old…available on 27^th and 28^th January 2017.. I love the food here…. So yummy…

And last but not least…. You just want to ‘Huat Ah….’ With your family members at home… you can purchase the dry Yee Sang at the Atrium lounge at just RM59 nett per order and the Salmon Yee Sang at RM78 nett per order… ideal for 4-5 people per box……
