The historical city of Melaka is one of my favorite cities for a quick getaway as it is just about an hour or two depending on how fast you are driving and the traffic from KL…

I love it as it is rich with UNESCO world heritage sites, great food and warm people….

Recently, while on a road trip to the east coast, some of my best friends and I stayed over at the Tun Fatimah Riverside Hotel, which was smacked conveniently in the middle of Melaka…

We were warmly welcomed at the hotel after we kind of stopped to admire the beautiful Melaka River prettily litted up and the water fountain just outside the hotel, since we arrive a little late in the evening…

Checking in at the spacious reception area was a breeze with the pretty receptionists cladded in colourful Baba Nyonya kebayas…

..and our superior rooms were cosy, clean and comfortable with a beautiful view of the Melaka River…

Our rooms also came with air conditioning, an ensuite bathroom, desks, chairs and wardrobe… as well as coffee and tea making amenities, a small refrigerator, and free wifi…

A simple but delicious buffet breakfast is served at the Hang Li Po Cafe… Joshua loved their kerabu…

The hotel’s location by Malacca River is a walking distance to many tourist attractions and I did not know I wanted to laugh or cry since I also realise my favorote Ramen Asam Pedas and Cendol Kg Hulu was just like a 4 to 5 minutes walk across the river via the bridge (wanted to cry because I only realised it in the morning when exploring the property before we had breakfast and check out) and Masjid Kg Hulu, the oldest masjid in Melaka was also within walking distance

You can also take the Melaka River Cruise from the hotel’s little jetty which is also a very picturesque place to take photos at… as well as enjoy the beautiful scenery or go explore the historical city…

It is said the Straits Chinese Jewelry Museum Malacca is 2 km from Tun Fatimah Riverside Hotel, while The Stadthuys, Jonker Street etc are all within 2.5 to 3 km from the property…

So if you are asking me, I definitely say yes, the hotel is a lovely place to stay in terms of comfort and I like the location… as well as the warmth and friendliness of the staff…
