Huhuhu I had planned a trip to Redang and had asked a friend to help find me a hotel, but was told that the hotels in Redang were all fully booked… Then he suggested that maybe I should check out Lang Tengah Island…

For a little bit I was slightly confused.. I had booked a trip to Terengganu and was my friend suggesting I go to Langkawi instead?! After googling where or what Lang Tengah Island was, I quickly got excited and fell in love…

It is hard not to when it is verily a tropical paradise in the sun…

Lang Tengah Island or Pulau Lang Tengah is a crown-shaped island tucked between Pulau Redang and Pulau Perhentian….

And the lovely 4 star Summer Bay Resort was my destination… The beautiful Summer Bay Resort gives their guests a chance to rest and enjoy life at a smoother, slower pace, with the promise of beautiful tomorrow in a gorgeous paradise island surrounded by azure, blue water…. It’s the perfect place to take your fill of the sun, sand, sea (vitamin sea)…

We flew into Kuala Terengganu via the Sultan Mahmud Airport… Summer Bay Resort provides land transport pick-up service from the airport to the main Merang Jetty if you are not driving…

Once we got to the jetty, we had to go through all the new normal SOP such as checking in via MySejahtera, getting temperatures checked…

And then our luggages and bags were all sanitised before being taken aboard the boat.. We were also sanitised from body to the bottom of our shoes…

The speedboat left the jetty at 10.30 am… We arrived half awestruck at the mesmerizing and breathtaking scenery… And was welcomed… But first..

Hand sanitizers were distributed by a staff before everyone was ushered through the disinfectant chamber…then a sour lime drink was offered along with the check in…

There was a guest briefing before we were shown to our room…

We got a beautiful deluxe pool view family room with 1queen bed and 2 single beds along with two separate showers with toilet….

The room was also clean, sanitised and well maintained and came furnished with a safe, minibar fridge, wardrobe, flat screen TV and a whole 5 litres of RO water….

The highlight of the room? The other door opens to a little balcony and to the pool….

Summer Bay Resort has many activities for their guests to take part in from sunrise walks, snorkeling, scuba diving, blue sand/tears tours, jungle trekking and supper at Mamak stall

Lang Tengah Island has an abundance of beautiful corals and marine life…

We then took a boat out to a little secluded bay where we got to snorkel and observe the beautiful underwater world of Terengganu… There were many fishes and the reefs here are quite beautiful…

However, you can also laze around the resort and snorkel at the beach.. If you are lucky you can even encounter baby sharks there…

There is even a shallow Nemo reef with a family of clownfishes, as well as a huge round reef at the end if the jetty which looks like a mooncake and which is called the mooncake coral.. It is a natural reef though, not manmade as I first thought it to be..

One thing good about an island staycation is it is usually full board, which means your breakfast, lunch, tea break and dinner are usually included along with your room and certain activities such as snorkeling, jungle trekking and blue sand /tears tour…

After a sumptuous Chinese buffet style dinner, we gathered at the lobby for the Blue Sand Tour. Blue Sand or Blue Tears are actually tiny bioluminescent planktons that emit blue light as they hit the shore. It can only be found or seen at selected places and Pulau Lang Tengah is one of them….

The little tour took us to the jetty at the far end of the resort where we got to observe a smattering of these Blue sand/tears in the sand, these blue sand /tears can only be seen in the dark… And since it was near pitch dark, we also took the opportunity to then admire the beautiful starry night sky….

Then it was lights out…

Woke up early and headed outside to catch the early morning view of the beach and the resort…

Then we had our breakfast, packed our bags and waited for our boat transfer back to the mainland jetty… And that was the end of my 2 days 1 night stay at Summer Bay Resort Lang Tengah Island…

Hoping to be able to visit again soon and spend a longer time there.. It was such a beautiful piece of paradise, one of the many gems in Malaysia we are slowly discovering and uncovering..
