Mooncakes are back to mark the Mid-Autumn Festival and this year, Zuan Yuan Chinese Restaurant of One World Hotel Petaling Jaya is offering 12 types of mooncakes – six baked, five snow skin and one special Teo Chew savoury option.

Purist with a preference for timeless flavours can nosh on varieties like White Lotus Paste, White Lotus Paste with Single or Double Yolk, Red Bean Paste, Pandan Lotus Paste, Supreme Mixed Nuts and Deep Fried Teo Chew Yam Paste with Single Yolk.

A bevy of colourful snow skin selection with flavours such as Red Bean Paste and Pumpkin Seed, White Lotus Paste, Pandan Lotus Paste with Single Yolk, White Lotus Paste with Single Yolk and Durian Lotus Paste will make a perfect ending to any communal meal.

I love mooncakes and since I am also trying to watch my weight and health a bit, I got myself the White Lotus Paste, Pandan Lotus Paste baked mooncake as well as the White Lotus Paste Snowskin variety along with the Durian Lotus Paste Snowskin… The mooncakes are delicious, not cloyingly sweet and comes packed in pretty attractive red cardboard box
