Just more or less 20 minutes drive away from the Langkawi International Airport, the hotel’s sleek, expansive lobby is very welcoming with a resort vibe combined with modern touches, vibrant colours and a refreshing open air concept…

The rooms comes with no card slots because Aloft Langkawi Pantai Tengah has Passive Infrared (PIR) motion sensors installed to detect activity in the room and turns everything on from the moment you open the door… Inactivity of 15 minutes will disconnect it in return for environmental sustainability…

And likewise if you open the door to the balcony, the air conditioning will automatically shut off only to turn back on once the balcony door is firmly closed…

Aloft Langkawi has a whooping 208 loft-like rooms and suites. Guests can choose from seven room categories — Loft Rainforest or Garden with King Bed, Loft Rainforest or Garden with twin beds, Loft Seaview with King Bed, Loft Seaview with Twin Beds, Breezy Room with King Bed, Breezy Room with Twin Beds or the romantic Sweet Suite spread out over eight floors, each embracing a bold colour palette, with high ceilings and spacious balconies with picturesque views of either the Andaman Sea, garden or the lush surrounding rainforests….

I was lucky to be staying at one of the spacious Loft Seaview rooms with a cosy king bed and an equally spacious bathroom…

The room is modern and chic, and come with 49″ Smart TVs, mini-bar and complimentary hi-speed Wi-Fi connectivity.

My home for two nights was located on the 8th floor, and it came with a balcony that opened up to the pool below me as well as the sea, offering the pretty impressive sunset views in the evenings…

The spacious bathroom, that came with a closet, toilet and walk-in showers with rainfall showerheads (separated by glass)

My room came with breakfast…. Which was served daily at NOOK, the hotel’s main all day dining restaurant which is located on Level 3… Psst… the breakfast is a pretty good spread, but please don’t expect it to be a 5 star one….

You can find a variety of local and International specialties here.. And the prices are pretty reasonable for a hotel…

Also on Level 3, right next to NOOK is the jewel of the hotel, Splash, the gorgeous outdoor infinity pool (1.2m) overlooking the Andaman Sea….

You will find an outdoor infinity pool and splashes of fuschia (the umbrellas, lounger cushions and swimming pool towels)… Here you can and must enjoy a refreshing dip in the pool or lounge by the pool with a drink in hand, preferably the signature fuschia Aloft coconut…

There is also a children’s pool (0.4m) as well as jacuzzis in two birdcage – like structures….

There is also a generous fitness centre there as well as children’s play room…

Aloft Langkawi is however not located ON the beach, though it is just a short 3 minute walk away…

And if you’re seriously thattt lazy to walk (seriously??!!!), you can also catch the complimentary buggy from the hotel to the beach…. The beach is pretty clean and it is definitely a lovely place for a leisure morning or evening stroll and /or playing in the sand or sea….

As mentioned, Nook is the main restaurant but you can also visit the other F&B outlets including the Splash Bar by the pool, or pop into Re:Mix Lounge for a round of pool with family or friends, or just relax with a drink or two at the WXYZ Bar…

while Re:fuel offers 24/7 grab-and-go snacks just in case you are suddenly peckish or hungry in the middle of the night….

The hotel is truly a photographer’s haven, with lots of Instaworthy spots and the sunset views on a clear day can pretty much be the hightlight. Of your stay too..
