Kissed by the Orang Utan at Safari World Bangkok, Thailand

Safari World Bangkok is a pretty top-rated destination with 2 unique themes, the Safari Park and the Marine Park.…

Having been to Bangkok dozens of times, I have never visited Safari World before yet until recently….and it was definitely a fun adventure.

Safari World Bangkok has been around since 1988 and it is located about 40 km away from downtown Bangkok…..

Safari Park is only accessible via a coach bus ride that runs for up about 30 to 45 minutes….This one-of-a-kind ride is like going on a safari the African way except you are in the safety and comfort of an air conditioned bus….

While on-board the Safari World Bangkok’s coach bus, you can see the zebras, white rhinos, hippopotamus, camels, deers, lions, tigers, and more!

It sure is thrilling coming across the big cats, the lions and then the tigers in their designated zones in the Safari Park…

… and then you also come across bears!!!!

It sure is exciting to witness a live lion feeding show from your bus at Safari Park…. The big cats climb or chase the feeding vehicles to get their meat.

Safari World Bangkok’s Marine Park is the next stop after Safari Park…. I seriously do not know why it is called a Marine Park but it is a combination of marine animals as well as all the other mammals and wild animals…. And this area gives you the freedom to roam around and see the animals closer but this time the animals are in cages….

Giraffe Feeding
One of the fun activity you can try your hand on is probably the giraffe feeding. You can meet these fascinating tall creatures at the Marine Park. For THB 100, you can be closer to the giraffes and feed them carrots or bananas…. But mind these tall herbivores’ salivaaaaa….

Tiger Cub Feeding
Feeding a tiger cub milk would definitely be a rare opportunity! For THB 200, you are given a few minutes… maybe 3 minutes to hold and feed the baby tiger. Plus, you can take a photo of your experience!

Elephant Show
If you enjoy watching these gentle giants, head to the elephant show and watch their incredible skills. Even with their gigantic size, elephants are extremely talented mammals! They can easily balance, either on both feet or with just one foot!

These playful animals are also very playful. Catch them popping balloons and shooting a ball using their trunks

Walrus
I have always wished to meet a walrus face-to-face… and it was at the Walrus enclosure that I was given this unique encounter with that mammoth marine mammal… be careful though as they are pretty mischievious and will love to splash water on you too…

Egg World
Eggs World is a pretty interesting and must-visit section. It’s a discovery centre that showcases the life cycle of different eggs. One of the highlights here is the development of a chicken embryo. There’s also a parrot incubator, where you get to see many newborn parrots and also learn their growth process.

Lunch at Tiger Burger
Tiger burger is a burger stall near Animal Cafe and it sells pretty delicious burgers including the Crying Tiger burgers….

The meat? Tiger meat of course…., nahhh just kidding… Tiger burgers are made from chicken or beef….and it is pretty filling and quite good… at least I loved my Crying Tiger /Sua Rong Hai burger (THB195)

Dolphin Show
The dolphin show is definitely entertaining …
We all know how playful and intelligent these sea mammals are and this show shows how they easily follow instructions like balancing and zipping aroung in the water or jumping up in the air.

There’s never a dull moment when you spend your time with these beautiful creatures. Grab a photo with these sea mammals for THB500

Another place that you should not miss is the Open Air Studio…. the place where you can choose to take photos with some of the animal super stars such as the orangutans, the noisy parrots, the sleepy owls or even the majestic eagles… There are of course additional charges for photos (THB 200 per person per animal)

River Safari
The River Cruise is a 10-15 minute boat trip that will take you through a replica “jungle” setting that features animatronic animals like snakes, gorillas, lions, crocodiles and aborigines. However, this River Cruise is not included in your purchased entrance ticket, you need to purchase an extra ticket to join this fun activity.

Tree House Aviary
Grab an “ice-cream” for the birds and enter the Tree House Aviary where you can feed some of the hundreds of free flying brightly coloured sun conures/parakeets which will come and land on your hand to peck at the “ice-cream”…

Dessert at Animal Cafe
The dessert served here are animal themed and definitely taste really good … I ordered the Iced Zebra Chocolate (THB 120) which was one helluva delicious iced chocolate drink with velvety looking zebra stripes made from bamboo charcoal powder and the Giraffe Terrace (THB250) which came with Tiramisu Cake, Vanilla Soft Serve and Giraffe shaped cookies… my friends ordered the Mango A Co-Co (THB 250) which came with the Famous Thai Mango Sticky Rice and Mango Pudding and Elephant Split (THB 220) which came with Chocolate Banana Sundae, Banana chips and Elephant shaped cookie….

Overall, I had the most amazing and memorable time and it sure was plenty of fun
