I always knew you can make incredible creations with a piece of paper and a few folding techniques…

Origami is the art of paper folding. Its name derives from Japanese words ori (“folding”) and kami (“paper”). Traditional origami consists of folding a single sheet of square paper (often with a colored side) into a sculpture without cutting, gluing, taping, or even marking it. Even without using any techniques besides creasing and folding paper, it is possible to create incredibly intricate figures like cranes, frogs, boats, and more!

It took attending the Modular Origami exhibition and Malaysia Origami Day exhibition to open my eyes and wow me with the next level kind of origami done by Origami Academy at Tokyo Town Pavilion Bukit Jalil which is ongoing from now until 30th April 2023!!!!

Like whatttttt…. You can actually make amazing figurines like Hang Tuah, the Japanese God of Thunder and even Goku with just a piece of paper? You can make durian from one paper?

You can make amazing looking dragons with fangs and claws and wings and all with just one paper???? Oh my Gawd…. It is seriously mind boggling how truly patient and talented some people are!!!

The Modular Origami exhibition is just as intriguing and amazing seeing how they join the shapes to make a beautiful ball of flowers or designs!!!
