I am someone who loves to pamper myself with a nice staycation from time to time, as it is a getaway for me, and it affords me some me time to contemplate as well as to unwind and rest or think better….

And recently I had a little getaway staycation at Oakwood Hotel & Residence Kuala Lumpur. Oakwood is conveniently located along Jalan Ampang, and is a mere 8-minute drive or bus ride (from across the road) to the Petronas Twin Towers…. And well, Kuala Lunpur’s Golden Triangle, the place for shopping, food and entertainment… or businesses….

Oakwood Hotel & Residence Kuala Lumpur comes with 251 spacious rooms and apartments, the promises the comfort of a private home with hotel services and amenities.

You can choose from four room categories, namely Deluxe Room (30 sqm), One-bedroom Deluxe Apartment (53 sqm), One-bedroom Premier Apartment (53 sqm) and Two-bedrooms apartment (82 sqm).

Checking in was done professionally and efficiently and I was soon handed my keycard to the One Bedroom Deluxe Apartment.

My home for the night, the One Bedroom Deluxe Apartment came with a tastefully furnished living room with attached kitchenette and a separate bedroom…

The living area had comfortable seats and sofas, with a wide screen LCD TV on the wall with cable channels.

The bedroom was furnished with a comfortable and cosy king bed with four pillows, premium cotton sheets and duvet. There was a walk in closet kind of area that came filled with bathrobes, bedroom slippers, iron and ironing board, mini safe and a couple of laundry bags before the path ended at the spacious bathroom …

The bathroom was definitely spacious and came with a bath tub, and separate shower stall fitted with rainforest shower as well as the usual hand shower…

The view from the room overlooked Jalan Ampang’s bustling street with views of KL city skyscrapers….

For those who like to relax or bask by the pool, Oakwood Hotel & Residence Kuala Lumpur
comes with a sizable outdoor swimming pool (j1.5m deep) as well as a kid’s pool

Gym bunnies and those who need their work out are not forgotten with a pretty spacious and fully equipped fitness centre that is near the pool side…

TrEat Restaurant & Bar is their all-day dining restaurant that serves a decent buffet breakfast as well as local and International specialties on their a la carte menu.

I enjoyed my noodle dishes, eggs, pastries and yogurt during breakfast….

Feeling peckish? Not to fret as there are vending machines in the lobby area as well as a Starbucks self serve… or you could simply head over to famous local grocer Hock Choon across the road or the 7 eleven opposite the hotel…..

Love the rooms and the friendly and welcoming staff and the very strategic location!!!
