Deepavali is a time for light, love, happiness and togetherness, and what better way to soak up the festive spirit than with a visit to Pavilion Bukit Jalil?

This year, Pavilion Bukit Jalil welcomes the Festival of Lights with its beautiful Deepavali celebration, ‘Joyful Lights – Together, Here’, transforming the mall into a vibrant festive destination filled with colourful cultural installations, intricate artwork and stunning photo opportunities.
Running from 22 October to 9 November 2026, the celebration brings together the beauty of Indian traditions, artistic creativity and the joy of spending time with family and friends. Whether you are visiting to admire the decorations, enjoy cultural performances or shop for festive essentials, there is plenty to discover throughout the mall.
The Saree of 1,080 Blessings: A Beautiful Welcome

Start your festive journey at the Main Foyer Entrance on Level 3, where you will find The Saree of 1,080 Blessings, an eye-catching installation by UCSI Group.
Comprising UCSI University, De Institute of Creative Arts and Design (ICAD), UCSI Child Development Centre, UCSI International School Kuala Lumpur and Sekolah Sri UCSI Kuala Lumpur, the installation celebrates creativity, culture and the spirit of community.
Inspired by the number 108, which holds sacred significance in Hindu tradition, the installation transforms its symbolism into a flowing saree representing collective blessings and celebration.
Look closely and you will discover intricate patterns and hidden details woven into the artwork, making it a meaningful and beautiful centrepiece to welcome visitors into the Deepavali festivities.
Giant LED Elephants at the Spanish Steps

As you explore further into the mall, make your way to the Spanish Steps, where a pair of giant LED elephants creates a magnificent festive display.
Elephants are traditionally associated with wisdom, strength and good fortune, making them a fitting addition to the Festival of Lights celebration.

Surrounded by vibrant festive florals, these illuminated installations add a touch of grandeur to the mall. They also make a lovely backdrop for photographs, so remember to snap a few pictures with your family and friends while you are here!
Admire the Colourful Circle of Light Kolam

One of my favourite things about festive mall decorations is how they bring traditional art into modern spaces, allowing more people to appreciate the beauty and cultural significance behind each creation.
At the PIAZZA Entrance on Level 3, visitors can admire The Circle of Light, an intricate kolam art display created by students from City University Malaysia and City Fashion School.
Traditionally, kolam designs are drawn using rice flour at the entrances of homes during Deepavali and other auspicious occasions. These beautiful patterns symbolise a welcoming gesture, inviting blessings, prosperity and good fortune into the home.

For this installation, the flowing patterns and floral borders come together in a vibrant display that celebrates the artistic traditions of Deepavali.
Surrounding the centrepiece, glass showcases also feature fashion, beauty, home and gifting selections from Pavilion Bukit Jalil’s retail tenants, bringing together festive inspiration and shopping under one roof.
The Guardian of Auspicious Light

The festive journey continues on Level 2 at the Bukit Jalil Entrance, where another beautiful kolam installation, The Guardian of Auspicious Light, welcomes shoppers.
Complementing the artwork on Level 3, this colourful display celebrates the spirit of community, togetherness and auspicious beginnings.
Together, the installations create a festive trail throughout the mall, inviting visitors to slow down, appreciate the artistry and immerse themselves in the joyful atmosphere of Deepavali.
Get Creative at the Diya Paint & Glow Workshop

Beyond admiring the decorations, Pavilion Bukit Jalil has also brought the festive spirit to life through hands-on activities.
At the Diya Paint & Glow Workshop, Pavilion Privileges members had the opportunity to paint their own clay diyas, decorating the traditional oil lamps with personal colours and patterns.
Diyas are an important symbol of Deepavali, representing the triumph of light over darkness and the hope for brighter beginnings.
It is a lovely way to celebrate the festival through creativity while preparing a meaningful decoration to light up the home during Deepavali.
Catch the Indian Semi-Classical & Fusion Dance Performances
If you enjoy cultural performances, make sure to mark your calendar!
Pavilion Bukit Jalil will host Indian Semi-Classical & Fusion Dance performances at the Foyer Entrance on Level 3 on the following dates:
- 31 October 2026
- 1 November 2026
- 7 November 2026
- 8 November 2026
Performances are scheduled at 2.30pm and 4.30pm.
Combining the grace of classical Indian dance with contemporary influences, these performances promise to add even more colour, rhythm and energy to the Deepavali celebrations.
It is also a wonderful opportunity for families and visitors to experience the beauty of Indian performing arts while enjoying their time at the mall.
