2023 – A visit to Everland, Yongin -Gyeonggi-do, South Korea

Oh the joys of being young at heart… to do that you have to be living life to the fullest.

The Everland Resort, located in Yongin, a city in Gyeonggi-do is one of the top 20 ranked busiest amusement parks in the world.. and amusement parks are the only place where being scared is a good thing….

This famous Korean themed resort entertains visitors both young and old through various fun attractions in five themed areas – Global Fair, American Adventure, Magic Land, Zootopia, and European Adventure.

The amusement park is beautifully decorated depending on the different festivals celebrated throughout the year, and that includes Tulip Festival, Rose Festival, Summer Splash, Halloween Festival, Romantic Illumination, and more.

When you enter the park, you come across Global Fair which is primarily the place for food, souvenirs, and pictures as visitors enter and exit the park. There are shops and restaurants, also services such as rental stroller and lockers.

One of the park’s most famous rides is the T-Express, Korea’s first wooden roller coaster, popular among visitors who love a good adrenaline rush which is located at European Adventure.. I so wanted to go for this but the queue was 2 hours long so I gave up

There is also a colourful flower garden to mesmerise all flower lovers as well as a train ride, games and arcades. There is a fun Mystery Mansion attraction, in which visitors can shoot at ghosts… I had a good laugh there as well as a very tired arm when the ride was over!!!

Magic Land comes with fairy tale like buildings and rides, turning Aesop’s fables into a real village and play land… there are many rides for kids here as well as a flume log ride, a futuristic flying ride and a robot ride.

Zootopia is a must-visit for all animal lovers as it spans an area of 15,000 ㎡ and exhibits over 2,000 animals. There is a petting zoo, a futuristic kinda research place home to all the apes and primates, and enclosures for birds, polar bears, sea lions, penguins, bears, lions, tigers

Amazon Express is a raft ride, where most visitors get splashed.

Lost Valley opened in 2013 and features the largest ecological safari world with tours by amphibious car to see 150 animals. Kosik, one of Lost Valley’s elephants, made it to the news for having an ability to imitate Korean words

A pair of giant pandas given by Chinese president Xi Jinping as a symbol of friendship between Korea and China can also be seen at Panda World, and the queue is also pretty long…but to see those lucky creatures??!!! Worth it!!!

There’s also the American Adventure behind Global Fair with Western themed rides located in this section called ‘Rodeo’

In Rock Ville, the theme is the 1950s and its music. The Double Rock Spin is a main attraction where live bands play near the Rolling X-Train, one of the roller coasters in the park

It sure is worth spending a whole day there as you will not be able to cover or finish all rides and attractions in just a few hours…so choose your favorites and enjoy!!!!

There is a pretty good selection of yummy food here which is surprisingly affordable.. I had a nice shrimp burger set for 12400 won and then some Mini Melts Double Choco Single for 4000 won… for lunch and for tea, I had a Honey Soy Sauce Chicken Skewer for 5500 won and a Churros for just 4000 won!!!!

Of course, as in most themed parks, do not miss out on the parade and meet and greet if possible…
