Kuala Klawang said to be Jelebu’s biggest town is about 30 km away from town of Seremban… it is a sleepy village but steep in traditions.. and it was an honour to explore it with the team from Gaya Travel and Negeri Sembilan Tourism….

You can see that most of the government buildings in this little town sport the distinctive Minangkabau roof structure, with pointed roof ridges and the biggest of them all is the community hall, or Dewan Besar Majlis Daerah Jelebu, also known as the Dewan Besar D’Sury.

Gadang Budi Traditional House

One of the places you really have to visit is the Rumah Gadang Budi or Gadang Budi Traditional House which is more than 140 years old….

This traditional wooden house was built using quality wood minus any nails following authentic, traditional Minangkabau architecture and was originally located at Gunung Pasir, Sri Menanti… it was then purchased by a Tan Sri and the whole house relocated to Kampung Gagu, Kuala Klawang, completed with a gorgeous pond with a family of ducks….

Entrance is free and do be respectful as it is a private property… but you really must visit this gorgeous, picturesque old home which will make a great backdrop for your photos…
