The Arena of Stars at was full with throngs of Award-winning Japanese composer, musician and recording artiste KITARO’s fans waiting to see him entertain back here in Malaysia after a seven-year absence as part of his The Best Of Kitaro Live In Malaysia 2024 tour.

With a career spanning over four decades and encompassing more than 24 albums, KITARO has garnered an impressive 17 Grammy Awards nominations, and won the Grammys for Best New Age Album with “Thinking of You” in 1999, marking a pivotal moment in his career. 

Rising to prominence since the 80s, he became a household name, one of the few Japanese musicians to achieve global recognition. His iconic works, including “Silk Road”, “Thinking of You”, “Heaven & Earth”, “Matsuri”, “Reimei”, and “Water of Mystery”, continue to resonate with audiences globally. 

Organised and brought to Malaysia by Star Planet, the official event organizer which has been around since 2002, and which has rapidly moved up to become a leading and well known event organizer for local and foreign artistes, it was definitely an evening to remember…

KITARO brought his listeners on an immersive musical journey at his performance creating melodies that transported everyone into a realm of enchantment and introspection.

It was such a beautiful experience and we also got to indulge what I think (I might be wrong as I am not a Japanese dance expert) is the jo no mai, a rare and beautiful mask dance which was very quiet and elegant from Noh and also what seem like a very graceful crane dance

But the encore was well, KITARO himself serenading us with “Imagine” !!!!! It was so well done and I was really moved!!!!
