Stay 2025: A Stylish Stay in the Heart of Taipei: Our Experience at amba Taipei Ximending

There are hotels that simply offer a place to sleep — and then there are hotels that become part of your travel story. Our stay at amba Taipei Ximending was definitely the latter. Nestled right in the middle of Taipei’s buzzing Ximending district, this design-forward boutique hotel was everything we needed: comfort, convenience, and a little touch of fun.

The Loft Room: Spacious Comfort in the City

We stayed in the Loft Room, which offered an impressive 41 square meters (445 square feet) of space — a rare luxury in such a central location. With the option of a king-sized bed or two twin beds, it’s perfect whether you’re traveling as a couple, with friends, or family.

One of the features we absolutely loved? The two oversized day beds in the sitting area. Not only did they make for the perfect lounge spot after a long day of sightseeing, but they were also big enough to double as extra beds. The Loft room comfortably fits up to four adults and two children (12 and under) — making it ideal for group or family travel. The courtyard view added a peaceful, quiet atmosphere in contrast to the vibrant energy outside.

Dining at Buttermilk: Muslim-Friendly and Delicious

When it came to food, Buttermilk, the hotel’s Western-style restaurant, truly exceeded expectations. We were thrilled to find that they also offer Muslim-friendly options upon request, making it easier for Muslim travelers to dine with peace of mind.

One of the highlights? Their mixed grill platter — beautifully cooked meats served with hearty sides, full of smoky, savory flavors. We paired it with their egg fried rice, which was comforting and satisfying, and their blueberry lemonade — hands down the most refreshing drink we’ve ever had. Tangy, sweet, icy cold — it was the perfect thirst-quencher after a hot day exploring the city.

Location, Location, Location

amba Taipei Ximending couldn’t be more convenient. It’s perched right above the Eslite Spectrum mall, at the junction of Wuchang Street and Kunming Street, and just a 5-minute walk from Ximen MRT Station (Exit 6).

Whether you’re hopping on the MRT, catching a taxi, or planning a day trip via train or bus, getting around is incredibly easy. We found ourselves walking out the door and being instantly surrounded by street food stalls, quirky boutiques, and the unmistakable vibe of Ximending — often called the “Harajuku of Taipei.” It truly is the perfect base for discovering the city.

Final Thoughts

If you’re looking for a hotel that blends contemporary style, practical comfort, and unbeatable locationamba Taipei Ximending is it. The Loft Room was spacious and thoughtfully designed, the food at Buttermilk was satisfying and inclusive, and the convenience of being in the heart of the action made our Taipei experience all the more enjoyable.
