Travel 2025 – MATTA Fair September 2025 breaks Record as Malaysia’s largest Consumer Travel Fair

The Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel Agents (MATTA) is back with its biggest event yet… the National MATTA Fair happening from 5 – 7 September 2025 at MITEC, Kuala Lumpur. The launch was officiated by Mr. Surrendren Sathasivam, Deputy Secretary General (Management), representing YB Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing, Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture Malaysia.

Now in its 57th edition, this MATTA Fair is history-making… with a record 2,049 booths and 334 participating companies. Once again, it has earned its spot in the Malaysia Book of Records as the Largest Consumers’ Travel Fair. Expect an exciting mix of travel packages for both domestic and international holidays… brought together by licensed travel agencies, airlines and hotels all under one roof.

Big names are powering this year’s fair too… Sabah is featured as Malaysia’s Favourite Destination… RHB Bank joins in as the Exclusive Platinum Sponsor… Malaysia Aviation Group steps in as the Official Airline Partner and Premier Sponsor… AmLeisure takes the role of Media Partner… while Mayoly and Duria also lend their support. Together, they make the fair a one-stop hub for affordable travel deals, flights, food and even health supplements.

Sustainability is also taking centre stage. MATTA will introduce the largest-ever Eco & Sustainable Tourism Initiative (MESTI) pavilion… in collaboration with brands like RHB Bank, Sabah Tourism Board, Penang Global Tourism, Resorts World Genting, Royal Selangor, AMPSPA, Easy Motorbike and Pos Malaysia. For the first time, independent auditors will measure the event’s carbon footprint… a bold step toward greener tourism and a clear sign that MATTA is serious about responsible travel.

And of course, what’s a fair without fun? Here’s what you can look forward to at MATTA Fair September 2025:

  1. Buyers’ Contest
Spend a minimum of RM100 on travel packages and you could win roundtrip tickets to Paris, Japan, Perth and more… plus a brand-new EV Bike!
  2. Ride & Reels
Commute sustainably to the fair, vlog your journey… and stand a chance to win cool tech prizes.
  3. Spin & Win (Hall 5, Level 2)
Spend at least RM300 to spin the wheel for exclusive daily merchandise… a little surprise to add excitement to your visit.

As MATTA President Nigel Wong put it… the fair has grown from a modest exhibition into Malaysia’s largest and most recognised travel showcase… and now, it’s also a symbol of sustainability as we gear up for Visit Malaysia 2026.

Tourism numbers are already on the rise… domestic tourism alone recorded 69.7 million trips in the first quarter of 2025, a big 18.9% jump year-on-year. But beyond the numbers, there’s a deeper mission here: protecting the environment, empowering local communities and promoting authentic Malaysian travel experiences that embody Malaysia Madani values.

For visitors, the fair is free to enter… open from 10 am to 9 pm daily. Complimentary shuttle buses are available from KL Sentral and Sunway Putra Mall… and for those driving, parking is provided at MITEC South Entrance basement, MITI basement, MATRADE, Kompleks Mahkamah KL, The MET and nearby areas.
