2 Days of Nonstop Fun at LEGOLAND Malaysia Resort — Theme Park, Water Park & SEA LIFE Adventure!

Looking for a short and exciting getaway from Kuala Lumpur? My recent 2-day trip to LEGOLAND Malaysia Resort in Johor Bahru was the perfect mix of thrill, creativity, and family-friendly fun! From the Causeway Link Express Busride to the Theme Park, Water Park, and SEA LIFE Aquarium, every moment was packed with excitement…. and yes, of course, plenty of LEGO magic.

Getting to LEGOLAND Malaysia from Kuala Lumpur 🚍

The journey started right from Grand Mercure Kuala Lumpur (formerly Swiss-Garden Hotel). I took the Causeway Link Express Bus, which offers a direct and comfortable ride straight to LEGOLAND Malaysia Resort. (Super convenient if you don’t drive or want to drive so far there)

The best part? No transfers or complicated stops — just a smooth, air-conditioned ride that lets you relax and enjoy the scenic route down to Johor Bahru. It’s definitely one of the most convenient ways to travel to LEGOLAND from KL, especially if you’re going for a weekend trip or short holiday.

Day 1: Discover the LEGOLAND Malaysia Theme Park 🎢

Stepping into LEGOLAND Theme Park instantly brought out my inner child. Bright colours, happy music, and that unmistakable LEGO energy, it’s impossible not to smile!

Must-Visit Rides and Attractions

  • The Great LEGO Race – a must-try for thrill-seekers!
  • The Dragon roller coaster – Fly around the castle and soar through the treetops, meeting lots of animated LEGO models along the way, including a giant red dragon that resides in the castle grounds
  • Miniland – hands down my favourite! Over 30 million LEGO bricks were used to recreate Asia’s most iconic landmarks like the Petronas Twin Towers, Angkor Wat, and the Taj Mahal.
  • MINILAND Singapore – Step into a world of wonder with 14 iconic buildings from the Lion City built using over 250,000 LEGO® bricks

After all the exploring, I refueled at The Market Restaurant — great for a quick, satisfying meal before catching the fun LEGO City Stage Show.

Since my visit was in October, LEGOLAND Theme Park has their Brick or Treats Halloween event… so there was a lot of fun activities like Frankensteins Fair at the Beginning Stage where there were lots of building games happening, the Witches Party near the Castle where you could take part screaming at the Scream O’ Meter (and win some cool prizes) as well as Lord Vampyre’s Carnival where you could go on a Candy Corn Hunt….

There were also plenty of fun performances.. from the Monsters Mash Mob, Monster Party, Zombie Cheer Squad, Wizard’a Spellbound and so on as well as meeting the Monsters!!!!

You can also dress your little ones up at the Monsters Disguise Costume Party (and win prizes!!!) or let them go Trick or Treating on a Candy Trail on weekends!!!!

LEGO Studios – Light, camera, action! Prepare for mesmerizing 4D movies with thrilling scenes and animated drama that leave you at the edge of your seat and wanting more. We had a fun time watching The Great Monster Chase!!!

As the sun began to set, I checked into the Somerset Mendini Iskandar Puteri, just a 5 minutes walk away to rest up for another full day of splashes and discoveries.

Day 2: Splash into Fun at LEGOLAND Water Park 💦

Day two started under the Johor sunshine — perfect weather for the LEGOLAND Water Park!

You can spent the morning floating lazily along the Build-A-Raft River, where you can actually build your own LEGO raft as you go. Then it was off to the slides — Splash ’N’ SlideLEGO Wave Pool, and Joker Soaker were my top picks.

What I loved most about the Water Park was how every corner had a little LEGO surprise — colourful bricks, playful characters, and cheerful vibes everywhere you looked.

Dive into SEA LIFE Malaysia 🐠

Right next door is SEA LIFE Malaysia, an interactive and educational aquarium that’s great for all ages. Walking through the underwater ocean tunnel surrounded by sharks, rays, and schools of fish was absolutely mesmerising.

The jellyfish room and coral reef displays were another highlight — plus, keep an eye out for the adorable LEGO divers hidden in the tanks! It’s a beautiful blend of marine education and LEGO creativity that makes the whole experience extra special.

Heading Home: Memories Built to Last ❤️

After two days filled with laughter, adventure, and water fun, it was time to head back to Kuala Lumpur. The Causeway Link bus made the return trip just as smooth — the perfect way to end a stress-free getaway.

If you’re looking for a family-friendly destination in MalaysiaLEGOLAND Malaysia Resort truly has it all: thrilling rides, immersive attractions, and easy accessibility. Whether you’re a parent, a LEGO fan, or just someone who loves fun weekend getaways, this is one destination you’ll want to visit again and again.
