What happens when you mix Malaysia’s colourful culture with a whole lot of speed?
You get Citrawarna Speed Festival 2026… where traditional dances, colourful costumes, heritage crafts and motorsport-inspired experiences come together in one seriously fun celebration of Malaysia!

And the grand cultural highlight was definitely the Colours of Parade at IOI City Mall Putrajaya, bringing together around 1,500 dancers and cultural performers from across Malaysia.
Now that’s what I call a Malaysian party!
A Parade Full of Colour, Culture & LOTS of Energy
The Colours of Parade was the cultural centrepiece of the 12-day Citrawarna Speed Festival, organised by Tourism Malaysia from 23 September to 4 October 2026 as part of the Visit Malaysia 2026–2027 campaign.

And it wasn’t just one particular state or culture taking the spotlight.
The parade showcased performances representing Malaysia’s Northern, Central, Southern and East Coast regions, together with Sabah and Sarawak.
Think traditional music, energetic dances, gorgeous traditional costumes and plenty of colour… basically, a live reminder of just how wonderfully diverse Malaysia is.
There were also performances representing the Orang Asli, Chinese, Indian, Sikh and Siamese communities, together with lively Nusantara percussion and brass band performances.

And honestly… seeing all these different cultures sharing one stage was quite a beautiful representation of what Malaysia is all about.
Different traditions, different stories… but one Malaysia. ❤️🇲🇾
From Culture to Speed!
What makes Citrawarna Speed Festival a little different from your usual cultural festival is that it doesn’t stop at traditional performances.

The festival combines culture + arts + tourism + motorsport-inspired experiences under one roof.
At IOI City Mall Putrajaya, visitors could explore Colours of Speed, featuring racing-inspired attractions and interactive activities.
Then there was Colours of Art & Culture, with 14 interactive stations where visitors could discover traditional crafts, heritage arts and even watch live cultural demonstrations.
So whether you’re there because you’re a culture lover, a family looking for something different to do, or someone who simply hears the word speed and goes, “Where?!”… there was something to keep you entertained.
Bringing Malaysia’s Culture to Travellers

The festival wasn’t confined to IOI City Mall either.
Elements of Citrawarna Speed Festival were also brought to KLIA Terminal 1 and Sama-Sama Hotel KLIA, allowing international travellers and hotel guests to experience a taste of Malaysian culture during their journey.
I actually love this concept because sometimes tourists don’t have the time to explore every corner of Malaysia.
So why not bring Malaysia to them?
From the moment they arrive at the airport to their hotel stay and other travel experiences, they get little glimpses of our food, arts, crafts, music and traditions.
And for a country as culturally colourful as Malaysia… there is certainly plenty to show off!
Culture, Speed & Visit Malaysia 2026–2027

Citrawarna Speed Festival 2026 is also part of the bigger momentum towards Visit Malaysia 2026–2027, showcasing Malaysia as a destination where culture, entertainment, sports and tourism can come together.
And the numbers show that Malaysians and international travellers are definitely on the move.
Malaysia recorded 28.8 million international visitors from January to August 2026, up 1.8% from 28.2 million during the same period last year.
Domestic tourism was also going strong, with 151.6 million domestic visitors recorded in the first half of 2026, a 5.6% increase from 143.5 million in the corresponding period of 2025.
More people travelling means more opportunities for visitors to discover what makes Malaysia special… from our heritage and culture to our food, nature and, apparently, our love for fast cars!
And Then Came the Lamborghini Finale…

Because apparently a cultural festival wasn’t complete without ending things with a little vroom vroom! 😂
The festival concluded on 4 October with a special Lamborghini Activation at IOI City Mall Putrajaya, featuring approximately 100 Lamborghini vehicles.
From traditional dances and heritage crafts to roaring engines and supercars… talk about ending a festival with a bang!
And that pretty much sums up the whole idea behind Citrawarna Speed Festival…
Culture meets speed. Tradition meets modernity. And Malaysia gets to show the world that we can celebrate both.
From the colours of our traditional costumes to the sound of percussion… and finally the roar of a Lamborghini engine…

Malaysia certainly knows how to put on a show! 🇲🇾✨🏎️
Citrawarna Speed Festival 2026 may be over, but the colourful celebration of Malaysia’s diverse heritage continues as we gear up for Visit Malaysia 2026–2027.
And honestly… if this is just a taste of what’s coming, I’d say Malaysia is ready to welcome the world!
