5 attractions you should not miss at LEGOLAND Malaysia

There are times even as adults we have to let loose and let our inner child out, enjoy life and have some fun….and this, I am good at.. because as everyone close to me knows I am rather like Peter Pan… never grow up… I am forever 18 (yeah, yeah, I see my daughters and some of my friends and family members rolling their eyes – tak sedar diri, LOL)

So recently yours truly had a couple of hours to kill at LEGOLAND Malaysia…Since I had only a couple of hours I really could not play everything or cover everything in this vast colourful theme park right…huhu.. now if I had the whole day there, I would be able to do so…

So let me share 5 of my favorite attractions I crammed in my two hours… (Note: I have of course gone to LEGOLAND Malaysia, prior to this… and had the chance to check out other attractions/rides as well so these are my selected 5 attractions)

1.Miniland

You really do not want to miss the LEGO Miniland….It was designed and built by a team of more than 100 people from around the world, beginning with a team of LEGOLAND designers taking pictures and familiarizing themselves with the landmarks  they were recreating and 3 years of 3D design and production before the training studio was then established and the models built!!!

This is the place children and adults can pretend that they are giants and it is here you can admire some of the most notable and famous landmarks around Asia which have been recreated on a scale of 1:20, with the use of more than 30 million LEGO bricks!!!

You really have to admire the Taj Mahal from Agra, the Angkor Wat from Siem Reap, The Forbidden City / Great Wall from Beijing and Tanah Lot from Bali……they are simply amazing…

2. LEGO Star Wars Miniland

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

This is definitely a MUST for all Star Wars fans.. and this is the first of its kind in Asia as well!!! It is located not too far from the Miniland and it took a whooping 8,000 hours and used about 1.5 million LEGO bricks to create the 1,122 models here!!!

When you walk into the building, you will be entertained by a cute Lego short movie on Jar Jar Binks…before you can move on to enjoy seven scenes from the six Star Wars films and The Clone Wars animated series in great detail…

3. The Dragon Roller Coaster at LEGO Kingdoms

Looking for some adrenaline rush? You really should not miss out on the Dragon roller coaster… it takes you deep into the royal castle on a fascinating journey into medieval times….. I forgot how many times I got on this roller coaster ride… but yes, if you are a hard core roller coaster rider, this is nothing… it is NOT that scary…

If you are there with kids, go for the Dragon’s Apprentice which is a smaller, cuter and less scarier ride….especially for the younger guests… my daughter went on that the last time we were here at the LEGOLAND two or three times before deciding she wanted to go on the Dragon!!

4. Dino Island at the Land of Adventure

Dino Island is the LEGOLAND theme park’s wettest ride..so be prepared to get drenched (and yes, no kidding.. you WILL get wet) or bring along a raincoat… (but if not, there are dryers around the place for you to dry off)

It is a fun little canoe ride through the land before time… where you will meet man eating plants, dinosaurs etc….. and oh no!!!! Be prepared to get scared by something in the dark cavern….. You HAVE to fall from the 12 metre high waterfall which is of course, the fun part where you can get some adrenaline rush…. and some splashing fun… hahahah

I had my raincoat ready and had to hide my Wakai shoes under my raincoat for this ride….

5. Observation Tower at LEGO Imagination

The LEGO Observation Tower is of course, the highest point in the park, so if you are not afraid of heights and just want a calm relaxing ride to the top of the park and see the views around you, this is the ride you should take…

It will bring you to 41 metres above the ground for a great revolving aerial view of the Park…

Ok, these are my 5 top attractions in LEGOLAND Malaysia I went for bin the 2 hours I had… but it is just my list… and well, you might have your own, so if you can, maybe do share it with me too in the comment box below…

Naturally, there are many other interesting and exciting attractions around as well which if you have the time , you really should take the opportunity to explore…such as LEGO Technics (which I missed out – running out of time as I had to attend the LEGOLAND Ninjago event…..) , the LEGO Ninjago Live Show at the LEGO City Stage and 4D movie adventure at LEGO Imagination….(not enough time to catch on this trip… huhuhu)

Come November 2016, there will be another attraction YOU really MUST NOT miss which is the LEGO Ninjago : The Ride (click here to read about it – if you haven’t)

Special thanks to Gaya Travel magazine and LEGOLAND Malaysia Resorts for having me over….

  1. I’ve been to Legoland and can’t get enough of it. It’s weird though, since I used to play with legos but never a huge fan. Somehow, there is this attraction with the theme park.
