Hotel Review 2019 – One World Hotel Petaling Jaya

Since the school holidays just began, I decided to bring my daughter for a little break.. And we headed to the One World Hotel in Petaling Jaya which is adjacent to the award winning 1 Utama Shopping Centre.. Did you know 1 Utama is the 7th largest mall in the world and one of Malaysia’s most successful shopping centres…

The 438-room 5-star hotel, located in the heart of Petaling Jaya is said to be complemented by personalised service that exceeds guest expectations and needs with grace and intuitiveness…

And I kid you not.. I was truly stunned when I was just about to check in when one of the Club Pursers approached me and identified me on sight.. The first thought that ran inside my head was, gosh, do they send their staff to FBI or some elite detective class?!

He introduced himself to me. Faiz was his name.. And he brought me on a mini tour to the Peridot Club lounge on the 1st floor and told me about the extra services and amenities offered at the Peridot Club lounge which included breakfast, cocktails, tea etc…

A small meeting room, a mini business centre, and of course, even a massage chair and leg massage machines for complimentary usage for Peridot Club floor guests..

Anyway One World Hotel is represented by Preferred Hotels & Resorts under the LVX collection. Preferred Hotels & Resorts comprises more than 650 independent hotels, resorts, residences, and hotel groups across 85 countries…

The 20-storey luxury hotel, is welcoming with opulent Crema Valencia marble, figured sycamore wall panelling and you can not miss spectacular chandeliers right at the centre of the lobby…

What I like best about the hotel besides the comfort is the accessibility.. The hotel is a mere 3-minute walking distance from the Bandar Utama MRT Station and a mere 45-minute drive from Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) by road…

With beautiful bespoke rich wood veneer furniture and wall panels amongst shades of warm grey and creamy tones with a mixture of contemporary styled furnishing and spaciousness, the rooms are undoubtedly a symbol of style and elegance.

Each room and suite features element of comfort and relaxation in mind, from luxurious soft quilted leather palette walls that adorn the headboard corner to the massively crafted polished aluminium panelled mirror surrounding the space.

I was given the Junior Suite, a beautiful 70 sq m room that came with a generous sitting area, a L-shaped sofa, a round coffee table, two cosy lounge chairs, a generous sized king bed and ensuite bathroom with both a bathtub and a hand held shower as well as a rain shower…

There was a lovely juicy red apple and a little cannister of complimentary cookies on the work desk..

But I am more amazed and wowed by the avant-garde in-room motion sensor which turns off the light when no one is around but turns on the lights automatically when we are around, great convenience and energy saving … The in-room motion-sensor is an infrared human detection sensor which supports all motion dependent functions, including lighting and air-condition… But for the fact that the music that came on with the homepage of the TV is a little bit eerie after a few times listening to it… My daughter said it reminded her of the music that comes on during the end credits for some horror or slasher movie.. Hehehe

The room category offered by the One World Hotel Petaling Jaya consists of Superior Room, Deluxe Room, Executive Deluxe Room, Junior Suite, Premier Suite and Executive Suite all cosy and luxurious in their own way to ensure you feel just right at home…

And well , when it came to recreation and relaxation or wellness, it is all on level 2 of the One World Hotel…

There is the new Clark Hatch Fitness Centre which has been fully fitted with high-performance fitness equipment, where I contentedly got my workout done….

There are also infrared sauna rooms, traditional sauna rooms, four tennis courts…

And when on any vacation or staycation, you’d definitely look for the swimming pool.. And One World has a big Olympic sized one as well as a children’s pool with slides and sun deck within a resort style landscape setting….

If you need some pampering.. You really have to check out Clark Hatch’s Life Spa… Here you can choose your pampering treatment from an extensive Life Spa menu designed to promote a sense of balance, harmony and serenity.

The Life Spa offers a variety of packages for both men and women, as well as couples to indulge in their deluxe treatment rooms…

The staff there are friendly and helpful and I was introduced and recommended my treatment..

The holistic blend of Balinese, Thai, Hawaiian Lomi Lomi and shiatsu massages rhythmically stimulates energy flow by increasing blood circulation and easing muscle tension….

I decided to have the Sunset Treat in one of the 2 VIP treatment rooms with private shower and Jacuzzi…

I was given a choice and I picked the Green Tea Scrub out from a choice of 3 scrubs – of Rose Scrub , Green Tea Scrub and Lavender Scrub and also had to choose my preferred aromatherapy oil, I chose the Body Balance essential oil out from other selection of Body Relax, Body Toning…

I was shown to the treatment room and asked to changed into disposable panties..

Once done, I left everything to Melody, my masseur and she gave me a nice relaxing body scrub, so relaxing I was practically dozing off and half snoring…

Once she was done, I was told to take a shower and then dipped myself into the bubble bath/ jacuzzi… That was pretty fun but it did at a point get a bit scary since the bubbles keep on rising but eventually spilt over the jacuzzi tub.. Lol… I never had a bubble bath with so much bubbles before…it was definitely fun but quite a bit of a mess in the treatment room’s bathroom… Huhuh
