When in Sandakan, seafood is a must.. After all its one of the places fresh seafood is abundant…. And so one of the most popular seafood restaurants in Sandakan has to be Pusat Makanan Laut Pasir Putih Baru

The restaurant is a simple restaurant with a view of Sandakan Town and Sandakan Bay located by the roadside…

The first dish got our eyes wide opened and excited… It was none other the lobster Yee Mee….  The Lobster that came served on top of the Yee Mee was just so fresh and succulent, you could almost taste the sea in every bite…

Then we had some Sabah Garoupa Steamed in Soya Sauce, Steamed Chicken with Garlic, Salt Baked Crab,  Steamed Prawns which was also lip smacking good…

And Sotong Kicap as well as Vegetable soup….

This vintage /instagrammable San Da Gen Kopitiam is located at the main town of Sandakan… Easily spotted at the same building of Nak Hotel, where the Balin Rooftop Restaurant is located…

San Da Gen serves up a combination of Sandakan favorite local and fusion dishes and are famous for their cream puffs, UFO tarts and also Salted Egg Lava French Toasts…

IMG_20190915_112503-01-912x684.jpeg

The UFO tarts is definitely eye catching… It consist of what is a butter cookie as base with generous cream and custard piled on top of it… Some even call this the “cow dung” tart… Lol

The Salted Egg Lava French Toast looks normal when served… But when you cut the toast, the melted salted egg flows out…. This is definitely a must for every salted egg lover!!!!

I am also sooooo in love with their avocado cream puff and durian cream puff which is as big as your palm, and it taste just soooo heavenly…

Last but not least, it is said when in Sandakan, you must have a glass of refreshing home made grass jelly prepared with evaporated milk… And San Da Gen has a pretty yummy one to offer…

This spacious double storey restaurant serves reasonably good authentic Sandakan favorites here… With the air-conditioned upstairs reserved for functions and special events…

However, I manage to indulge my taste buds in their spaghetti bolognaise, Musang King soft serve ice cream, green energy yogurt drink and also their Avocado ABC at the Makan Sandakan Food Fair 2019 at Bandar Kim Fung and I loved them all….
