On my recent trip to Langkawi, I arrived in the airport, got picked up by a van and was casted into wonderland feeling very much like Alice, when she fell down the Rabbit’s Hole…
My “wonderland” was a neo classical building with plenty of whimsical elements nestled at the end of Pantai Tengah…
It did not help that I arrived just as the sun was setting, the moment the sky was ablaze with a myriad of mesmerizing colours which definitely captivated me, and there was that Balinese beach party vibe happening with the deejay at the deck and the gorgeous pool and surroundings illuminated with lights… All these and a lush landscape overlooking the dreamy Andaman Sea made the Dash Resort Langkawi seem both so whimsical and yet magical…
Checking in was a breeze and my companion and I were welcomed with a turquoise coloured lemon drink which was just refreshing and cold towels that felt absolutely blissful….
We were given our key card and shown to our room..
I got the Dash Deluxe Garden room which was pretty spacious at 42m2 and came with a super king bed and 400 thread count cotton linens…
So yes, the bed is undeniably cosy and guaranteed me a good sleep… And the resort mascot, the turquoise bunny plushie sits welcomingly in the middle of the bed….
I was delighted to find a private garden with a lovely tub and sitting area outside…
However I was a little sceptical about skinny dipping in the tub as there was a building with windows at the side.. And I just wasn’t really feeling secure…
The room is lovely.. And comes with free Wi-Fi, and a 32inch flat screen wall mounted Smart TV with satellite channels which you can watch comfortably from the cosy bed..
The bathroom features a rain shower, specially selected shower and body products, rich terry cloth towels, cotton turquoise dash bunny kimonos and slippers….
You can purchase the plushie or the dash bunny kimino at the in-house shop where they also sell some interesting personal merchandise…
Every corner of the Dash Resort Langkawi was like walking around Alice’s Wonderland, maybe a beach version…
The hallways were lined with portraits of famous Superheroes from the Marvel and DC universe as well as Star Wars said to be painted by a Balinese artist..
The Dash Beach Club comes alive from about 4pm to 8pm thanks to the DJ and a few glasses of delicious cocktails or your choice of ‘poison’…
It is here at the Dash Beach Club, you can escape the ordinary and unwind in style… You can just close your eyes and imagine yourself in one of the beach parties at Kuta, Bali but this one is even better, me thinks… Everyday party time during sunset! So, come on, slip in and have FUN yourself!
Dash Resort Langkawi is a whimsical 108-guest room beachfront resort, comprising of a two-bedroom villa, deluxe rooms with terraces and jacuzzis, garden rooms as well as entry-level studios….
I also got to sneak a peek at the Dash Premium Jacuzzi Sea View, a 87m2 room with their equally luxury super king bed….
The amenities are about the same like in my room except that of you are staying here, you can relax on your private terrace that comes with a day bed, outdoor Jacuzzi and private access to the dash lounge….
Dash Resort Langkawi comes with its own spa as well.. And since I was feeling achy and have been feeling pretty achy from all the running around, I decided to check out the resort’s Rabbit Hole Spa for a little quickie to loosen those knots…
The spa offers all sorts of spa treatments from massages to mani-padi to help you fully relax on your holiday. I was given an amazing massage by my masseur who was seriously good at what she did.. I never felt so light and refreshed after going through a session under her magical hands…
Mya Kitchen’s is the main restaurant at the Dash Resort Langkawi and also Dash Beach Club…
I like to frown back at the stern rabbit butler at the side of the entrance.. The food is influenced by Thai, Vietnamese, Chinese, Indian and Balinese everyday food…
I had some steak for dinner and S’mores for dessert and both was pretty good…
In the morning we ordered ala cate breakfast from the menu which came looking like a news letter… And while the food isn’t exactly the best I had it was reasonably good…
And of course.. The gorgeous pool with a jacuzzi and sunken deck was simply insta worthy…
The beach equally gorgeous with soft powdery sand….
