Hotel Review 2022 – Sabah Hotel , Sandakan

The Sabah Hotel in Sandakan is located just barely 2 km from the centre of the town, on top of a hill with lush rainforest foliage as it’s backdrop.

It is on conveniently located on it’s own on the main road, and you can take a short drive or book a Grab /Maxim ride to and from the city centre… and it is also just about 20 mins drive from the Sepilok Orang-utan Rehabilitation Centre.

The lobby of Sabah Hotel is a little odd but the staff are pretty welcoming… Sabah Hotel is also a pretty old hotel with a historical past….

The Sabah Hotel comes with great facilities
– The hotel has a fully equipped gym, outdoor tennis and squash courts, a jogging track, free form swimming pool fed by a beautiful waterfall with slides, spa steam baths and a sauna.

This is one of the hotels in Sandakan with the best facilities

The Sabah Hotel comes with spacious rooms which has been luxuriously furnished to fulfil all needs.

Despite being an old hotel, my deluxe room came with a comfortable king size bed, in-room safe box, dressing table, LCD TV , iron & ironing board, hair dryer, mini fridge, coffee or tea making facilities, 2 complimentary bottles of drinking water

My bathroom was pretty spacious came with a bath tub and shower area and toiletries…

Peckish or hungry? You can choose from Sabah Hotel’s several restaurants – Lobby Lounge, Plantations or Ming Chinese Restaurant or head over to Encore KTV to sing your heart out….

You can also indulge in a nice treatment in the spa – I had a nice traditional full body massage and it was really superb… Watie the masseur has magic hands!!!!

And of course, it is only a great idea to relax in the gorgeous free form outdoor pool Sabah Hotel has to offer, and let the waterfall splash on you or slide down the slides and splash in the waters

Private and business events can be hosted in spacious conference halls.
