What happens when you combine running, LEGO® bricks, family fun and a spectacular light show? You get one of the most exciting weekends Kuala Lumpur has seen this year.

The iconic KLCC precinct came alive with colour, creativity and boundless energy as the highly anticipated Suria KLCC x LEGO® Play Run 2026 made its historic Southeast Asian debut on 6 June. Thousands of families, fitness enthusiasts and LEGO® fans gathered to be part of an unforgettable experience that transformed play into a celebration of wellness, imagination and community spirit.

Serving as the grand finale of the LEGO® MY Play Festival, the 2km experiential run marked the culmination of a multi-week takeover that turned Suria KLCC and KLCC Park into Malaysia’s largest-ever real-world LEGO® playground from 21 May to 7 June 2026.

More than just a run, the Play Run encouraged participants to get moving, connect with one another and embrace the joy of active play. Along the scenic route around KLCC Park, runners encountered a series of interactive challenges and playful obstacle stations designed to inspire teamwork, creativity and problem-solving away from digital screens.

The atmosphere was electric from start to finish as participants of all ages crossed the finish line to receive exclusive LEGO®-themed runner kits and a unique interlocking brick-inspired Finisher Medal — a well-deserved reward and keepsake from a truly one-of-a-kind event.

As the sun set, the excitement reached new heights with a breathtaking LEGO® 3D Projection Mapping showcase on the exterior façade of Suria KLCC. The larger-than-life visual spectacle illuminated the night sky with vibrant LEGO® animations celebrating both global play culture and iconic Malaysian heritage, drawing thousands of spectators to the Esplanade for an unforgettable grand finale.

Beyond the excitement and entertainment, this year’s festival also carried a meaningful message. Reinforcing Suria KLCC’s ongoing commitment to mental wellbeing, the festival featured the return of its signature “Safe Space” initiative. Held from 25 May to 7 June, the dedicated mental health sanctuary provided visitors with access to educational workshops, therapeutic experiences and support programmes in collaboration with leading organisations including MIASA, MMHA, NYAWA, The Befrienders KL, IHH Healthcare and Petrosains.

According to Francis Tan, Executive Director and CEO of Suria KLCC Sdn Bhd, the collaboration with The LEGO® Group reflects Suria KLCC’s commitment to creating purpose-driven experiences that go beyond traditional retail.

The overwhelming response to both the Play Run and Safe Space initiatives highlighted a growing desire for meaningful real-world connections, demonstrating how play, wellness and community engagement can come together to create lasting positive impact.

The fun extended far beyond the run itself. Inside Suria KLCC’s Centre Court, visitors explored an impressive LEGO® town inspired by Malaysian culture, complete with a detailed PETRONAS Twin Towers replica constructed from more than 51,000 LEGO® bricks, a personalised LEGO® Minifigure Converter station and stunning brick-built tributes to local pasar malam favourites.

Meanwhile, the Esplanade transformed into a football-themed adventure zone ahead of FIFA World Cup 2026™, featuring an interactive LEGO® Football Play Arena with giant inflatable football attractions, human foosball stations and displays celebrating some of the sport’s biggest stars.

Families also enjoyed a variety of engaging experiences and treats from participating Suria KLCC tenants including 8 Oz Coffee, Godiva, Kiehl’s, F&N, Dotty’s and Fishbowl, creating a vibrant festival atmosphere throughout the precinct.

The success of the Suria KLCC x LEGO® Play Run 2026 was made possible through the collaboration of KLCC Holdings Sdn Bhd, Official Healthcare Partner IHH Healthcare, and medical support teams from Gleneagles Hospitals, Pantai Hospitals and Prince Court Medical Centre, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for all.
