Merdeka 2026 – Kita-Lah! Malaysia: Celebrate the Malaysia We Know, Love & Create at fahrenheit88

What does Malaysia mean to you?

Is it the food we grew up with, the streets we call home, our colourful traditions, creative communities—or simply the people who make this country feel like home?

This Merdeka and Malaysia Day season, fahrenheit88 invites Malaysians and visitors to discover their own answer through ‘Kita-Lah! Malaysia’, a vibrant campaign celebrating the next generation’s authentic expressions of Malaysian culture, identity and community.

Running from 10 August to 20 September 2026, the Bukit Bintang shopping destination is transformed into an interactive cultural hub filled with art, photography, fitness, sustainability, local creativity and plenty of festive fun.

Discover Malaysia Through a New Lens

The ‘Kita-Lah! Malaysia’ journey begins at the Main Entrance, where shoppers can take part in an interactive Postcard Stamp Rally, created in collaboration with Loka Made and Bila-Bila Mart.

Shoppers can pick up a specially designed Loka Made postcard and make it uniquely theirs using a selection of custom stamps at the dedicated station. Once the postcard is completed, head to the Level 1 Concierge to redeem exclusive vouchers.

It’s a fun little activity, but also a lovely way to celebrate the personal stories and memories that make Malaysia special.

‘Malaysia Through Us’ — 60 Stories, 30 Creative Voices

One of the campaign’s highlights is the immersive ‘Malaysia Through Us’ photography exhibition at Level 3.

Featuring 60 curated works by 30 contemporary artists, including students from MIA and ASWARA, the exhibition offers a fresh and personal perspective on Malaysian life.

The showcase explores five thematic lenses:

  • Face of Malaysia
  • My Kuala Lumpur
  • Hidden Gems of Malaysia
  • Malaysia Through Food
  • Malaysia Tomorrow

From familiar everyday moments to visions of Malaysia’s future, the exhibition captures the country through the eyes of its diverse creative voices.

As Dato’ Joyce Yap, CEO of Retail, Kuala Lumpur Pavilion Sdn. Bhd., shared, fahrenheit88 has always been a space where culture, creativity and community come together. Through the exhibition, the mall hopes to give both established and emerging Malaysian talents a platform to share their perspectives while inspiring shoppers to connect with the heritage, diversity and spirit that make Malaysia uniquely ours.
