Tanah Aina Resorts is the brainchild of YBhg.Kol. Bersekutu (PA) Puan Sri To’ Puan Datuk Shariffa Sabrina bt Syed Akil who dreamt of eco-tourism getaways set deep in the lush rainforest of Malaysia without guests having to compromise on modern comforts. Yours truly was thrilled to be able to take a day trip there to the glamping site of Tanah Aina Fahad in Ulu Dong, Raub and indulge in the wild beauty of the place…
Tanah Aina Resorts comprises of 10 different locations all over Bentong and Raub in Pahang; Desaru in Johor and Hulu Langat in Selangor. Each and every Tanah Aina Resort is unique in its own way and has been painstakingly created in preserving nature and still making your holiday retreat or gastronomical experience a truly unforgettable one.
Tanah Aina Fahad, is named after Puan Sri Sabrina’s grandson, Fahad. And I was lucky to be able to meet Fahad himself…Isn’t he just so adorable…and getting to see Puan Sri Sabrina here, you can just see how passionate, in love and in her element with nature she really is as she runs around barefooted through the resort….
Address: Tanah Aina Fahad – Lot 1053, Mukim Ulu Dong, Raub, Pahang
Tanah Aina Fahad is an 8-acres glamping resort situated in the rural landscape of Ulu Dong in Raub. I am sure you must have hear of glamping.. it is camping in comfort and style.
Glamping is short for glamourous camping…and well, perfect for urbanites like us, who prefer the finer things in life, this is a treat.. getting to camp in the rainforest area but not having to miss out on modern comforts like a comfortable bed, clean toilets, a safe environment all with a beautiful and scenic backdrop..just perfect for nature lovers to temporary escape the rat race and highly stressed hectic lifestyle we city dwellers go through every day.
Tanah Aina Fahad is just a 2 and a half hour drive from Kuala Lumpur, and foreigners or urban kids can experience a scenic drive through the local villages to get to the resort, which is easily accessible by car with ample parking provided.
Upon reaching Tanah Aina Fahad, guests are greeted with the sound of the waterfall and flowing river as well as a breathtaking view of Sungai Dong best viewed from the suspended hanging bridge that goes across the river….You can also play some games with the giant snake and ladders as well as chess board…
…or just while the time away on the swing at the campsite or the single hammock underneath the watchtower cum lounge area across the campsite via the suspended hanging bridge.
There quite a number of tents around with comfy beds as well as fans in them. NO outside food is allowed in the tents, but there are ample table and chairs around the area where you can dine or have a picnic at…
You can also opt for a Queen tent or a King tent that actually is not so much of a tent but almost somewhat kinda like a container shaped chalet…but not quite…. these ‘tents’ are very luxurious with a queen or king sized bed, a dressing table and a wardrobe in them!!! Heck, there is even a crystal chandelier there…..It just looks as perfect as any 4 or 5 star hotel room!!!
The toilet is not adjoined but it is just a few steps away and the toilets are super clean with wooden clogs provided…..
Take a dip into the cool water if you like… the water in the river here is crystal clear and very cooling on a humid day. Since I was just on a day trip, I could only dip my feet into the water…
And in case you are asking, yes, you can actually visit Tanah Aina Fahad here for a day trip and indulge in some good food as well for just RM100 per person and this would include a nice lunch as well as tea for you, and perhaps indulge in the king of fruits too (I am not really sure if this is in the menu, though)??!!…. To book a stay there, check out: http://www.tanahaina.com/booking-form/
I really hope I will come back for a nice overnight stay sometime as this is truly such a lush, beautiful and serene place….
