Day 3 :Woke up to birds chirping and peacocks meowing…. Ok, maybe not meowing but have you heard a peacock cry? They go…” Meoowwwttth” something like the name of the cat character from Pokemon…

Such is the life of waking up at the Larkhill Terrace Suite of the Amara Sanctuary.. and my daughter peered up sleepily next to me when I nudged her awake… She heard the peacocks cry as well as she ran to the back of the suite to open the doors that faced the infinity pool there and yes, peering at us suspiciously was a glorious peacock.. His plumes were definitely majestic, unlike some of the other peacocks in the bird park or zoos… Further to the left, near the Jacuzzi exclusive for Larkhill Terrace Suite guests were three other peahens in various sizes…

My daughter bid them a good morning before gingerly walking back to the suite as she became nervous with the suspicious stares the birds were giving her…

We then got ready and headed to Shutters restaurant for breakfast. Breakfast here is definitely a lavish affair and you can get a variety of dishes, from Nasi Lemak, Mee Soto; normal continental breakfast; Dim Sum and even Japanese – Miso Soup with Japanese rice; Korean – Tteobokki, Ginseng Chicken porridge, Kimchi and more.. I was definitely spoilt for choice…

We had breakfast and headed back to our suite as my mini me wanted to swim before we checked out… she went for her swim and took a nice bath in the tub before getting ready and packing her bags…

We checked out at about 11am and headed back to Harbourfront via the Sentosa Express… From there we took the MRT to Little India and trudged all the way to Hangout @ Mt Emily, our hotel for the last night…

We left our bags there and then made our way to the Singapore River Safari and Night Safari on MRT and changing to the red line towards Ang Mo Kio… from Ang Mo Kio, we headed to the bus interchange there and took bus 138 which goes all the way to the zoos…

The Singapore River Safari was definitely a lot of fun…. We got to see plenty of animals from the rivers of the world and those who live next to it…including red pandas, Giant pandas, manatees and so on…

The Night Safari is also a world class destination.. unlike our local Night Safaris which happens in the same day zoo area… on the contrary, the Singapore Night Safari is a totally different zoo, away from the Singapore Zoo…opened only in the evening and it is where you see most nocturnal animals active….

We were a little unlucky though as it rained heavily just before opening and we missed out on the Thumbuakar/fire performance and Creatures of the Night Shows… We only manage to go on a tram tour which took about 45 minutes and did a couple of trails in the drizzle….

My daughter was a little spooked walking in the dark trails especially being eyed by the hyena along the East Lodge trail and listening to the frogs calling and crickets chirping in the rainy and dark of the night …

We left the Night Safari slightly disappointed because of the weather which spoiled our plans somewhat and headed back to our hotel…and called it a day

Day 4: Woke up and I headed up to the Look out floor of the Hangout @Mt Emily for a magnificent morning view around Mount Emily…The prices of property around here is quite expensive, or so I heard since the President of Singapore is living around the area as well and security is pretty tight…there is one of Singapore National Park, the Mount Emily park which is just pretty and I heard many locals loved coming here for a picnic on weekends or public holidays.. it is picturesque with old trees and a  few benches along the steps…

Went for breakfast at about 7.30am and marvelled at the pretty little cafeteria there… Then we packed our bags and checked out and made our way to the airport….. to return my pocket WiFi as well as check in..

And that was the end of our Singapore trip…this trip was organised with my daughter ‘s (child’s ) interest in mind so it did not quite include any bars, fancy restaurants, shopping or so… so I hope this will be helpful when you plan a holiday to bond with your kids as well…You will find a holiday like this very fun filled and you get to bond with your kid (s)…
