You can never go hungry in Terengganu.. like every where else in Malaysia, Terengganu has its own specialties and there is just so much great food you have to feast your tastebuds on… and well.. here are some selections you really ought to consider when in Kuala Terengganu..

1.Nasi Dagang Kak Pah

We begin with some yummy breakfast offerings at Nasi Dagang Kak Pah, at a food court somewhere near Batu Burok beach..

When we arrived there, I was surprised to see a long queue at the shop since there are a lot of food stalls around and well you would rarely see queues in Terengganu..

Nasi dagang is a local Terengganu breakfast favorite.. It is basically steamed rice with santan/ coconut milk and herbs, and is served with Mackeral Tuna fish curry and some pickled vegetables…

Nasi Dagang Kak Pah serves up a generous portion of the rice. It is said to be one of the best fish curry for nasi dagang you can taste in Kuala Terengganu, so you really should not miss it if possible..

Kak Pah’s Nasi Dagang is quite a best seller and can be sold out pretty quick.. so if you are planning to try this delicious nasi dagang, do come earlier to avoid being disappointed…

A place that came recommended for lunch was the Nasi Berlauk Selera Kampung Z & S which had a generous selection of side dishes of fish, meat, chicken, vegetables and so on for you to eat with a plate of fluffy white rice…

This road side warong is probably one of the top eateries in Kuala Terengganu judging by the crowd and it is perfect for people who doesn’t eat too much sweet stuff as their dishes are seasoned just enough for taste and yup.. delicious….

This eatery sells some pretty yummy lamb dishes such as the Kambing Bakar Mongolia, which is sliced thinly, and marinated with their secret herbs and spices before being chargrilled over charcoal fire, and served with fries, a little bit of salad and cherry tomatoes and sauces..

and yes.. the grilled mutton is just crispy yet slightly juicy and full of flavors.. and the price is just about RM8!!!

Then there is also the Roti Kullahuk is absolutely healthy as it contains chia seed and wholemeal and is served with some special mutton curry.. It only costs RM5 for one set of this which makes you crave for more…

And yours truly can never resist some Koay Teow, and when our host from Tourism Terengganu was having some, I just had to try some too… and got to try the shop’s Char Kuey Teow Bladong Utara RM5 -6.50 and some Mitiyo Agogo…. both which just tasted superb…

6. Dynar Lekor

Dynar Lekor is said to be one of the best keropok lekor in town. It is not overly salty and you can really taste the fish in the keropok lekor unlike some other places which seems to be more starch or flour then fish…

You can choose to eat in and your choice of keropok lekor whether it is freshly steamed and chewy, …

….or deep fried for the slightly crunchier taste or well they do have cheesy and cheesy black pepper version too though I still prefer the original, steamed or deep fried and dipped into the accompanying chilli sauce

They also have other products such as satar,otak2 etc.

You can purchase these keropok to bring home.. They vacuum pack it nicely and the keropok can last about 24 hours our of the refrigerator… but if it is in a cool plaxe.. 48 hours is ok too.. since I brought mine back and my house mates only deep fried it about 40 hours later… If you keep it in the refrigerator, it will last you a couple of weeks or so…
