LOCCO Malaysia and the Keretapi Sarong recently held their annual Keretapi Sarong event as usual on 16th September, 2022 in conjunction with Hari Malaysia….

Keretapi Sarong is an annual event (except in the year of 2020 and 2021 where no group events were allowed due to the Covid-19 pandemic) celebrated by people from all walks of life who come together wearing their best traditional costumes, retro outfits as well as their sarongs!!!!

Participants will meet up at the selected MRT, LRT, ETS or KTM stations; LRT Gombak, LRT Ampang, LRT Subang Jaya, MRT Bandar Utama, MRT Kajang, ETS KLIA and ETS Putrajaya while KTM riders meet up at KL Sentral early in the morning to participate by riding from these MRT, LRT and KTM stations to a secret location which happened to be Pavilion Bukit Bintang this year….

Volunteer Squad Leaders who have been selected earlier and recognisable by their flags and tags waited for these participants at these stations to guide them to the Secret Location…

The energy and patriotism of all participants were truly palpable and amazing as droves of people from all over KL including foreigners came together in unity for day to remember

What was more exciting and made the day even more special was Tun M and Tun Siti Hasmah was also spotted at Pavilion Bukit Bintang and the sweet ex -premier and his wife willingly posed for photos with the participants who chanced upon them…

Tourism Malaysia Corporate Communication division, Hop-On Hop-Off and Kuala Lumpur City Gallery (KLCG) also took the opportunity to host a Hari Malaysia Media Get-Together as a continuation to the Keretapi Sarong 22 event for members of the media held in conjunction with Tourism Malaysia’s 50th Anniversary as an initiative to foster and strengthen the working relationship between Tourism Malaysia and Media Agencies.

There were about 50 members of the media comprising mass media, electronic media as well as influencers (including yours truly)who attended the event which was held at KLCG Confectionery & Bakery ….
