Tourism Selangor hosted its Media & Influencers Hi-Tea 2026 at Sunseed Green Wellness Bistro @ JAM PJ, bringing together members of the media, travel writers, bloggers, influencers and tourism stakeholders in an afternoon dedicated to celebrating collaboration and strengthening partnerships ahead of Visit Selangor Year 2026 (VSY2026).

The appreciation event recognised the vital role that media organisations and digital content creators play in showcasing Selangor’s diverse tourism offerings and inspiring both domestic and international travellers to explore the state.
Selangor’s Tourism Industry Continues to Thrive

During the event, Tourism Selangor Chief Executive Officer, Chua Yee Ling, shared encouraging tourism performance figures that reflect the state’s growing popularity as a travel destination.
Selangor recorded an impressive 8.42 million tourist arrivals in 2025, with 68% comprising domestic visitors and 32% international visitors.
Among international arrivals, China remained Selangor’s largest source market, contributing 24.1%, followed by Singapore (13.4%) and Indonesia (6.7%).
According to Chua Yee Ling, the positive growth is a testament to the collective efforts of tourism stakeholders, industry partners, media organisations and content creators who have continuously promoted Selangor through engaging stories and authentic experiences.
“The encouraging performance of Selangor’s tourism sector reflects the collective commitment of our tourism stakeholders, industry partners, media organisations and content creators in positioning Selangor as a preferred destination for both domestic and international travellers. We sincerely value the support of our media friends and influencers whose storytelling and coverage have helped strengthen the visibility of Selangor’s tourism campaigns,” she said.
Award-Winning Tourism Campaign
Tourism Selangor’s strategic marketing initiatives also received national recognition after winning the Gold Award for Best Use of Content at the Malaysia Public Relations Awards 2025.

The prestigious award highlights the effectiveness of Tourism Selangor’s creative communications and collaborative approach in promoting the state’s unique attractions while engaging wider audiences through digital storytelling.
Chua added that the recognition reflects not only Tourism Selangor’s efforts but also the invaluable contributions of media professionals and content creators who continue to amplify Selangor’s tourism campaigns.

This year’s gathering was held at Sunseed Green Wellness Bistro @ JAM PJ, a unique lifestyle destination located in the heart of Petaling Jaya.
