So over my daughter’s 16th birthday weekend, I decided to bring her for a little trip up to the Northern states of Malaysia…

We started with some food hunting and a short and sweet break at the Impiana Hotel Ipoh, followed by a couple of days in Penang…

Impiana Hotel Ipoh is strategically situated, thus easily accessible from major highways… And which allows guests easy accessibility to Ipoh city and the Ipoh Parade Mall….

The Royal Perak Golf Club and the Sultan Abdul Aziz Recreation Park (Polo Ground) is also a very short distance away…

Impiana Hotel Ipoh is a 4 star hotel with a mesmerizing history and legacy they are preserving by providing impeccably warm service to ensure their guests feel right at home….

Impiana Hotel Ipoh comes with a pretty big sized swimming pool which makes it a great getaway for families too…

The hotel offers 168 guestrooms from Deluxe to Royal Suite rooms with breathtaking views of the rugged limestone hills of Ipoh…

Checking in was a breeze after having to go through the new normal SOPs…

I was pretty impressed to see the front office staff spritzing the room keys with disinfectants right in front of us and wiping it clean with a towel before letting us collect it directly from the towel…

I was given one of their deluxe king bed room which I shared with my daughter.. The 258 sq ft room came with a huge king sized bed (obviously, duh….)

The hotel room may be a bit outdated and not as fancy as some of the newer hotels I’ve been to or that you have likely been to, but if you are like me and learn to appreciate the little things, you’d appreciate the spacious room, the dressing robes wrapped in plastic, the good old fashion bathtub to soak your stress away or shower in.. etc..

The rooms are actually pretty charming to me, and is a balance of modern conveniences and conservative but durable utilities…

My room was equipped with a 32″ LCD TV, good Internet access, coffee and tea making facilities, 2 bottles of mineral water, toiletries…

And the hotel team was thoughtful to leave a small surprise in my room to welcome us as well as for my daughter’s birthday in the evening, which made my daughter pretty thrilled…

The Impiana Hotel Ipoh’s Coffee House is ‘halal’ certified…

Since MCO, the Coffee House is now the main and possibly only dining outlet….. It serves served buffet breakfast in the morning, and has some pretty grest ala carte menu for lunch and dinner…

I certainly enjoyed indulging in some delicious cucur goreng and Ipoh White Coffee for Hi-Tea….

Since we were also kinda lazy to go out for dinner, we tried some of their ala carte dishes which was just lip smacking good….such as nasi briyani with chicken, lamb, nasi goreng kampung and chicken chop…

Overall, it was a really lovely stay as I loved the spacious and comfortable room, the friendly and accomodative staff (except for breakfast when I think they were a little short handed and thus a bit chaotic because it was a weekend and there was only that many staff serving everyone) as well as the food which was pretty yummy and also reasonably priced…
