Where to eat and stay in Langkawi

Here’s where we had some pretty noteworthy meals and where we lived during my trip to Langkawi with my friends, thanks to LADA….

Kerisik Laman Padi

You can choose to relax and dine in the middle of paddy fields in little thatched huts or well, eat at the main restaurant (too normal) . We chose to lounge around and had our dinner at the hut as the ambience kind of reminded me of Bali (who needs Bali when we can almost have the same experience back home here – says the fox with sour grapes but well in a way its true)

The food is served in a sharing platter and is pretty delicious…

I would really recommend at least one experience dining here when in Langkawi, since Kedah happens to also be the rice bowl of Malaysia…

Santai @ Kuza & Luke Café

If you looking for a cosy and stylish place to dine, check this out..

Santai Cafe is a unique, slightly edgy, island style café, conveniently located smack dab between Pantai Kok (Langkawi Cable Car/Perdana Quay) and the Langkawi International Airport in a nice kampung area..

Santai Cafe’s menu is simple yet has a diverse selection, from traditional Malay dishes to hearty ‘western’ fare that will satisfy most taste buds

Among the signatures are the Fried Calamari or Fried Bananas with Cheese, it definitely gets eaten fast!

My friend had the Seafood Curry Mee which was chocked full of seafood, while I had some mushroom soup served with garlic bread and Spaghetti Bolognese which is generously prepared and filled with mushrooms and beef… My first impression was OMG such a generous portion… But the food was really good and we manage to finish it or most of it…

We had good dinner over there. The restaurant ambience was cosy with both indoor and outdoor seating areas. We opted for outdoor table

Jetty Kubang Badak

This is just a simple warung at the Kubang Badak Jetty but the food is pretty good…

Loved it here, especially the ikan tiga rasa (sea bass fried and prepared with sweet, sour and spicy gravy), omelette and the calamari salted egg… And we polished our food off in minutes…

Marhaba Oriental Village

Marhaba here is kind of a Middle Eastern restaurant serving Western and local cuisine..

The restaurant was simple with air-conditioning and pleasant….

We had some Chinese Fried Rice which is appeared slightly odd as they used Basmathi rice to prepare it, Baked Fish, Mixed Vegetables and chicken masala…

The food did not disappoint with good portions, decent presentation and nice taste

Address – Oriental Village, F1, Jalan Telok Burau, 07000 Langkawi

Where we stayed : Telaga Terrace Boutique Resort

Telaga Terrace Boutique Hotel, Langkawi is simply a very convenient hotel to stay in…

It is right in front of Cenang Supermarket, right next to a clinic, and conveniently located to travel just about anywhere in Langkawi… It is close enough that you can walk to the beach or you can even walk to Laman Padi……

The rooms are super comfortable and the bathroom always impress me with the unique slightly open concept…

I have stayed here before, so staying here is like “coming home” too since the staff are just friendly, too and its so nice to see the hotel cats (not to worry no cats are allowed in the rooms) ….

If you are looking for a bit more luxury, do opt for the suites and you won’t regret it…

The suites are super spacious and comes with a private jacuzzi… And facing their Mediterranean kind of pool

Breakfast is very basic but the nasi lemak is super yummy..!!!!
