The Daun Resort Langkawi is part of a project, a group of entrepreneurs who decided to collect, conserve and restore interesting old homes and buildings (such as Bonton, Kunang2, etc), but under different owners…

The Daun Resort homes or chalets were once basically homes of Langkawi nobles (bangsawan) which have been lovingly bought over, assembled, restored and renovated into being comfortable homey accomodations for travelers like you and me..

Among the chalets or room types available would be the Kadok Chalet, Sireh Chalet, Inai Chalet, Kesom Chalet (Family) and Kemangi Chalet (Family). Most of the rooms or chalets can fit 2-3 people to a room whereas the family chalet can probably fit up to 5 pax…

The room I got during my stay was a couple room that came with a nice balcony overlooking the river… It was called Pudina 2
It was located at the upper floor of a double storey chalet…

My room came with creeping vines and was furnished with a lovely and comfortable queen bed with ample pillows for me to make a nest and sleep comfortably…

And yes, I had a lovely rattan rocking chair on my balcony, where I could sit and admire the solitude of nature during the evening or early morning…

My room also had a little sitting area, and a mini refrigerator, complimentary bottled water, complimentary cocoa sachet drinks, hot water kettle…

The adjoining bathroom/toilet was spacious, and I love the water pressure from the shower, as well as the tiles in the bathroom too.…. The toilet came with a bidet and there was also a hair dryer for usage…

I liked that The Daun Resort Langkawi is really so homey and cosy, and you can actually feel kind of close to nature… The small river is not not ideal for swimming but it is interesting as you can see fishes, monitor lizards or even otters if you are lucky…

And the riverside “warong” cafe is super cosy and you can also choose to relax at the hammock there or play a game of congkak with your family or friends if you wish to… There are a couple of friendly cats around and also chickens (ayam serama) in the coop….

Love the ambience and the staff are super friendly and nice… The location is also pretty convenient being on the way to Pantai Cenang (on the right) from the Langkawi International Airport…

and in case you are asking me, it is within walking distance to Cenang Beach (if you like a good walk) it took me about 20 – 30 mins stroll to get there, and you can also walk to Laman Padi for their delicious food, although they already serve pretry good food here too…
