Whenever I find myself in Kota Kinabalu, the place I call my home away from home would be the 384-acre grand expansive Sutera Harbour Resort… It sits at a beautiful harbour and overlooks the tranquil South China Sea, with views of tropical islands and the majestic Mount Kinabalu…..
Staying there is such an indulgent treat with a spectacular array of Resort facilities, from choice of luxurious 5-star hotels (my choice so far is the Magellan Sutera Resort) , award-winning 27-hole Graham Marsh designed golf course to the 104-berth marina and exhilarating recreational services….
The Pacific Sutera Hotel is an elegant and classy business hotel while the Magellan Sutera Resort offers a more laid back resort stay…
Both hotels offer a combined total of 956 guestrooms and suites, each offering an unsurpassed level of accommodation and warm hospitality.
The Magellan Sutera Resort has one of the most magnificent longhouse-style lobby, built as an architectural tribute to the Rungus natives of Sabah with fine timber furnishings and traditional handicraft artifacts to the understated ambience of the guestrooms and suites…
Guests are spoilt with gleaming swimming pools and delicious gourmet meals and get to admire the magnificent view of the South China Sea….
I love strolling through the Magellan Sutera Resort as the swimming pool area and gardens are just so beautifully landscaped and you will find yourself surrounded by lush greenery, flowers and palm trees alongside white, sandy beaches overlooking the South China Sea and the tropical islands nearby….
There are a total of four magnificent free form pools, including an Olympic sized lap pool at the Marina that command fabulous views of the entire resort and the yachts berthed there. The pools are accessible to guests of all ages and are patrolled by experienced and friendly life guards….
The rooms at the Magellan Sutera Resort are super spacious, comfortable and comes with very cosy beds that make you feel like lounging in bed the whole day doing nothing… The rooms come with a bath tub, a shower area and toilet in spacious ensuite bathroom…
I was lucky to be upgraded to one of their executive suites and it was even more spacious and the view was just like a beautiful painting…
The Executive suite is a contemporary designed suite with first class features and it was certainly an amazing stay…
The suite was undeniably spacious and came complete with a separate living and dining area…. There were day beds at the corner, a comfortable bar and mini kitchenette and a spacious sitting room with working table and the bedroom? Super sumptuous….
It surely made my stay unforgettable and I felt pampered….
Be sure to check it out for your next stay in Kota Kinabalu if you enjoy a comfortable and indulgent stay like I do… As for me, I definitely can’t wait to be back!!!!
