
Santapan Rasa Sayang 2023 Buffet Dinner is back at Chek’s Coffee House, AVANTÉ Hotel… and foodie guests can sample some of the most iconic dishes of various Malaysian states.

This season’s signature dish is presented by Chef Arih bin Ahmad, harking back to fond memories of his mother’s cooking — Daging bakar masak lemak, a Negeri Sembilan classic. Spiced with serai, cili padi and kunyit, the smoked meat (‘daging salai’) is then paired with creamy santan and belimbing besi, a combination that melds spicy, rich and smoky flavors, a traditional dish that whets the appetite.

Another showstopper is the tender, juicy, Kambing Golek, grilled and served live at the buffet. Classics not to be missed include Rendang Ayam, Ketupat Palas, Satay, Gear Box Soup, Ikan Bakar, Shawarma, Sotong Belado, Nasi Tomato, Sup Kambing & perut and plenty more!

A fine selection of international dishes will also be served: black pepper fried crabs, sushi & sashimi, sweet & sour squid, BBQ steak, chicken chop and Mongolian stir fried beef.


I loved their stir fried carrot cake which is almost as good as what I enjoy back in Penang, my hometown …

Catch Avante’s chefs making crispy sizzling Apam Balik, or enjoy the ‘Goreng-Goreng’ stall – Pisang, Keledek, Cekodok, Cucur Bilis and Cucur Manis. End the night on a sweet note, Kuih-Muih, ABC, Bubur, assorted French pastries and Exotic Fruits are all popular picks for dessert lovers.
