Life is always fun and like a box of praline chocolates when we are on the go exploring the world or even our own country or backyard….

Being people that have been bitten by the wanderlust bug, my close friend Oli and I decided to head to Langkawi when they announced the travel bubble..

We checked the Marriott Bonvoy app and decided on Westin and they were having a promotion then and the desire to indulge a little…

The Westin Langkawi Resort & Spa is a pretty fun place with endless activities from fun in the sun and so on….

And I swear they were not kidding when they said the flora, fauna, and animals here were abundant…. Or that you can actually and really watch hornbills flying from tree to tree on a breezy day… I mean most resorts talk about it and if you were lucky maybe you catch a fleeting glimpse of one.. But, during my stay I saw half a dozen!!!!

Anyway, back to hotel bookings and upgrading… Since, my close friend is a Marriott Bonvoy Titanium member, we booked a normal deluxe room but requested upgraded to the 1 Bedroom Suite with Ocean Front Balcony which was luckily approved…

Westin Langkawi Resort and Spa offers spacious hotel rooms, suites and villas with contemporary, ocean-inspired décor, signature Westin Heavenly® Beds, versatile workspaces and room service….

Our suite was more then spacious at 1625 square feet… It had a bedroom, a little hall, a living room, dining area, kitchen and two balconies…

One small one which opened from the bedroom and a huge spacious balcony with two sun loungers and a table and seats… There is space for a small dipping pool or jacuzzi but none here… Hehehe…

The ensuite bathroom in the bedroom is made with marble, and comes with Heavenly® Spa bath amenities and plush robes and a bath tub, though my friend is disappointed as he preferred a modern bath tub or one that came with a view…

There is also a toilet in the hall….

The kitchen came equipped with big refrigerator, Coffee Bean capsules and machine as well as the normal coffee and tea making facilities…

There are 4 pools in this property, not including pool at Spa and villa, which are the infinity pool, ocean rock pool, kids wading pool or all-adult spa pool.

The layout of the entire Westin Langkawi Resort and Spa property is very big and it adjoins St Regis Langkawi… You can walk to St Regis and also use some facilties like the restaurants or spa and charge it back to your room if you want to….

The beach here is private and therefore uncrowded and also clean….

Westin Langkawi Resort and Spa have a recreation centre with a very generous fitness centre and a great view of the gardens (be careful, you can get distracted from your workout like I did….) , sauna and jacuzzi room.. also have tennis court, squash court and children’s play room….

Breakfast is a superb quality breakfast with a reasonably generous spread.. has almond milk, smoked salmon, smoked duck, smoked chicken, fresh smoothies etc served at Seasonal Taste…
