Thai food lovers, good news!!!! It’s a Thai takeover at The Living Room as The Westin Kuala Lumpur’s all-day dining restaurant hosts Thai guest chef, Surachai Pleanbumrung, from their sister Hotel, Royal Orchid Sheraton Bangkok for a week!!!

Thai food is a culinary cuisine well-loved by Malaysians and many others throughout the world, as its cuisine is influenced by Indian and Chinese cultures and use a lot of fresh herbs and spices including garlic, coriander, lemongrass, mint and chillies, all essential ingredients in a Thai dish.

Chef Surachai’s dishes offered on the buffet are prepared from recipes that have been handed down through generations and adjusted to suit the tastes of modern diners.

Chef Surachai’s specially created menu features a range of Thai favourite dishes including some authentic dishes popular amongst the people of Thailand. Highlights from the spread will include appetisers, soups, curries, and desserts.

Ma Hor (Galloping Horses)

Numerous restaurants and street stalls allow the customers to choose the variety they prefer and adjust the ingredients to their preference. It can be enjoyed as the main dish or as a complement to rice, grilled meat, or marinated fish.

It offers a balance of sweet, savoury, and spicy flavours, with a hint of tanginess from ingredients like tamarind. The curry is made using a paste composed of various spices such as cinnamon, cloves, cardamom, cumin, coriander seeds, and nutmeg, along with garlic, shallots, lemongrass, galangal, and Thai chillies. Coconut milk serves as the creamy base for the curry, adding richness to the dish.
